neighbors being questioned about handyman

yes. Jersey was last known to be seen by the owner of one-eyed jacks saturday night. no verified sightings of him sunday that I have seen and lisa went missing monday.

Which leads me to believe that he is not involved.

If he was drunk and kicked out of the bar saturday night at 1am, who knows how he spent the rest of the evening. Did he drink more, find drugs, or go somewhere and pass out....we don't know. But, in my mind, there is a good chance he would not be seen sunday because he was sleeping off saturday night. I mean, we are talking about less then 48 hours (if my math is correct) that he wasn't seen. Very possible that he was keeping night owl hours at this point, which sorta fits into the overnight abduction scenario.
Therefore, I don't think the fact that he wasn't seen means that he had left the neighborhood....a neighborhood where he seemed very comfortable.

He went missing Before Babu Lisa

I know. By a couple of days. I think that anyone who was on their street, and then isn't (within a reasonable time frame) should talk to police and just clear up any concerns. Not because they are a suspect, but just so everyone who was close by is accounted for.

I didn't mean to imply it is him, just that he should probably check in and clear up any concerns. It just helps things move along when you can eliminate something coincidental, if that is all it is.

I can't for the life of me figure out whey the police aren't releasing Jersey's picture (sorry if this has been discussed, haven't read everything).
Isn't the probation officer not knowing where he is a violation of probation? Wouldn't that in turn mean a warrant would be issued for his arrest? If so, then why not get the picture out to the general public to help find this wanted man.
Feel free to pick apart.

They would not have to name him a suspect or person of interest in the case, they would just simply have to say...we are looking for this man because we want to question everyone in the neighborhood who may have seen or know anything....something like that anyway.

The article I read talked of him not reporting to his halfway house. I haven't read anything about him being on parole so I can't say anything about violations.

The police have been showing his picture to neighbors and asking them questions about this guy and I've also read police looked at video of him at one-eyed jack's from saturday night, two nights before lisa was taken.

That's the story, so far. In one of the video clips, oh please don't make me watch ALL of them again - I think it was the initial one in the OP, but not sure - the reporter commented that when police were asking questions door to door in Lisa's neighborhood / on her street, there was nobody home at the house across from Lisa's - as in the house where Jersey was known to stay sometimes. So, if they haven't spoken with the resident/s there yet, maybe when they do, they'll find out if he stayed there that weekend or was seen by them after the bar sighting late Sat. night. Purely speculation on my part!

This guy may have absolutely nothing to do with Lisa's disappearance. Most likely he's laying low due to being in violation of his parole / probation (not sure of the correct term). What bothers me is - he's known to stay across the street, he's known to frequent the neighborhood, looking for a place to live + a job, he's suddenly out of sight near to the time Lisa goes missing, he's got a reputation of petty theft at the least, apparently has a substance abuse problem (some addicts will do anything to get more of their wanted substance), a vehicle was broken into recently at the Irwin home, there was a sighting of a man with a baby on foot at midnight... it's just, well, enough, that I wish LE could have a little chat with him. Maybe he at least saw something, heard something that could be of help.

Theory / just a thought that's been bugging me - If he asked JI or DB, like the other neighbors, for a place to stay or a job + was refused, maybe not politely, maybe that didn't set well with him. Maybe he saw they had a camper in the back yard + was a little ticked off they wouldn't let him crash there or in the garage for a bit. Maybe he was within sight that night when JI left for work + saw that he was still gone when the family went to bed. Opportunity.

I'm not saying he's anything near the same kettle of fish, but Duncan was looked for, because he missed his parole / probation appointment. Prior to that, they had no idea he was the one who took the Groene children. For Jersey's sake I hope he turns up soon with a solid alibi.

I'm leaning towards him not being involved too. Hypothetically, if you were going to plan a crime, you might be busy the couple of days before. Or up all night watching, and sleeping all day.

I don't think a day or two eliminates the need to check him out.

They still need to find him..... I really don't think he has anything to do with Lisa vanishing either.

The Irwin's have a camper in the back yard?! Does anyone live in it?

BBM: Now that you say that, I really don't know...Was the half-way house a condition of probation? I am going off memory about the probation....anyone know a link verifying that he was on probation? TIA

That's right, but if you are on parole to begin with, you would so back to prison if you were caught abusing drugs or alcohol.

In the latest video (IIRC) where a guy talks about having rented a room to this handyman's girlfriend, he states that he threw her out because she stopped paying rent. He further states that the handyman stayed there with her and that he had stopped visiting his parole officer as far as he knew. If that is true (and may not be), then this guy may be headed back to prison for violation of parole - not to any halfway house for drug/alcohol abuse.

The latest video was posted just late last night in the media thread.

Why are we not sleuthing this guy? We know from the above video that he had charges brought against him by Macaluso's Thriftway, we know he was on parole, and we know he was staying/living in Kansas City Mo. Why can't we just find out who the guy is?

According to this news report "police say the abandoned home next to the well that was searched Tuesday, is where Jersey supposedly lived"

I am going to have to "go with" the neighbor who actually knew Jersey instead of the news report. This video and the fox4kc video state that Jersey lived with his girlfriend in a home two doors from the demolished house and then moved in with another friend in that neighborhood.

So that's two videos and one landlord against your one kctv report. ;) What else ya got?

.....because the police say that he is not a person of interest?
.....because none of the neighbors have released his full name to the media?

I wonder if the police have found Jersey's girlfriend? ( The girlfriend that he was living with until she got kicked out in August for not paying rent.)

If the really wanted him found they would let us sleuth him. :giggle:

That is an excellent question. Why is that vintage trailer sitting in their driveway? It doesn't look big enough for 5 people to actually use it to go camping.

First I have to say that I dont think and never thought that this homeless/handyman was involved. I hate to say after watching NG last night it solidified that thought for me. As she said and this is not verbatim, but what would a homeless man do breaking into a house and not steal clothing, money or food, just take a baby and cell phones. And that pretty much puts in into perspective to me. Nothing else was missing from their house. I just wish this man would come forward and clear himself so once again we can move on. The fact that LE has his picture and are not putting it out on air is a little pathetic to me, because well, being homeless, he may not have access to a TV that is saying they are looking for him and he could be 2 states away for all we know. At least if they put his picture out there someone might recognize him whether it be someone walking in a park or a family member of his and be able to say, here he is.. Its not uncommon for the police to put a pic on TV saying this person is wanted for questioning for (insert something here), he is not a suspect. I am wondering why they arent doing that. Like I said,we need to move on from this guy and we cant because there is too much focus on him by the media.

How do you know that? I find that super intriguing! I have heard of homeless people/drifters sleeping in peoples boats, campers etc. This area is near a lot of waterways,(correct?), so maybe some boats in the yards in the area were used as crash pads? This is a totally random thought, but MK your post made me think of it as a possible angle.
