neighbors being questioned about handyman

  • #341
I am going to have to "go with" the neighbor who actually knew Jersey instead of the news report. This video and the fox4kc video state that Jersey lived with his girlfriend in a home two doors from the demolished house and then moved in with another friend in that neighborhood.

So that's two videos and one landlord against your one kctv report. ;) What else ya got?
http://www.nbcactionnews.com/dpp/ne...earch-wooded-area-near-her-home#ixzz1abIIKps0
The landlord stated he rented the room to the girlfriend + Jersey stayed there from time to time. I've never seen where it states he lived there. Or that he moved in with another friend, just that he stayed once in a while here or there or in the abandoned house. I'm all set with the landlord, several videos and reference to what LE told the landlord. :peace:

I'd like to add - I commend you for defending homeless, mentally ill, substance abusers + so on. I've worked on the fringes with some of those folks + had some close friends go down that path + I appreciate you giving them a voice here. I'm in no way trying to convict Jersey, at all. I just think there is enough coincidences, close proximity, timing, that it'd put my mind at ease greatly if LE had spoken with him since Lisa disappeared. Again, somebody like that often sees + hears much more in the neighborhood than others + he might be a wealth of info. or he might not add one iota of assistance. Who knows? Sure as heck not me! As always, it's all just MOO.

Has a missing person report been filed on Jersey?

Would YOU miss him, Bean? ;)

(Okay...stopping now. Need to regroup before I get zapped.)

I'm not willing to dismiss this guy just yet. I know a lot of you, including NG think it's beyond far fetched that he be involved. I can't understand why..

Sounds like he's a roamer.. jobless, with a criminal history, houses were broken into and things missing suddenly a few months before. He's thrown from the bar for being an @ss.. He stayed in the house across the street...

What if... when he was asking around for jobs or how to get some money.. someone said.. snag me a little blonde blue eyed baby and i'll give ya $$$,$$$$. So suddenly baby is gone and so is jersey? Well sure, now he'd have money to go wherever he wants.

There are quite a few articles out there about child trafficking in the area. It's not so far fetched to me.

Here's an old one from '09... but just to show that it does happen and sickos like this are out there.

moo.. i'm not sleuthing him.. just wanted to point out it's not so impossible.

I already have, esp. since The parents turned away Baby Chris's father.

My mind has already been made up.

I sure hope they find this dude so he can be questioned. At the very least, he sounds sketchy. IDK about MO but in NC they are very aggressive and thorough in pursuing those who don't check in with their PO. I had been divorced from my ex for years but Federal Marshalls still came and interviewed me when he skipped out on probation. They finally found him and shipped him to the greybar motel, much to the relief of the kids and me because we were scared of him.

One scenario that occured to me which is not likely is.....

Did he enter the home in hopes of climbing into bed with D but her son was in bed with her so he took Lisa instead?

My mind keeps going back to the bizarre murder of NC state school board member Kathy Taft. A grifter entered the home and raped and killed her in the bed just after she had plastic surgery, her head was still wrapped from the surgery. Kathy's sister was asleep during the attack and never heard a thing.

Bizarre world we live in, eh?

That is an excellent question. Why is that vintage trailer sitting in their driveway? It doesn't look big enough for 5 people to actually use it to go camping.
He has used it during hunting season. Don't know how many go though. It is plenty big for a weekend hunting trip with a couple of friends.

Oh, don't thank me yet, Nursie...I'm getting ready to make a joke about the landlord's hairdo! ;)

(Okay, I won't. Moving on.)

Too funny.. maybe someone should ask him for 'tips'. (bad.. sorry lol)

Who is baby Chris and why was his dad turned away? Can you direct me to that info. I am really beginning to teeter on this :fence: I am sitting on.

It wasn't necessarily the parents who turned him away-but perhaps a well meaning family member. Hopefully he gets a chance to speak to them.

I have a thought on why LE is not plastering his full name + picture on the news + internet. It's just a thought, MOO - I know they've said he's not a POI or suspect (they always say that don't they? I mean if they shout, he's a POI, do ya really think he's going to waltz into the PD to chat with them?), but maybe they have serious concerns. In that case, IF they do, they might not want to shout all over the place + make a big deal out of it, because that might drive him further underground + might result in harm to a baby that might still be alive. They might just want to quietly find out where he's at + approach without fanfare. MOO

That's enough, might, maybe, if + MOOs for this morning. Really, seriously, I'm going to shaddup for a minute or two.
:silenced:

Though I really wanted to comment on that landlord's hat...

Thanks for the link, I had not seen that. I personally don't think that says anything other than they are inundated with people/media right now. Can you imagine the psychic's, murts etc that are trying to get their input through or face on the screen? That's sad though.. I hope after they realize who he is they do talk to him.

OK, one last thing!
Thank you IndaMiddle!!!
I was wondering if it was for storage or something + glad you solved that mystery, before I started speculating. :p
Hunting camper makes perfect sense.

I agree he should not be dismissed, he needs to be found, questioned and excluded (if clearly not involved). I understand why LE is not showing his picture in the media if they have reason to believe he is not likely involved. Putting his face all over the news could scare him further underground, put him in danger, or set him up as a scapegoat. If they haven't yet found him and they have his name, I believe the FBI will find him soon.

I agree with Pensfan that an image of a smelly drunk squatting in public is probably not correct, based on new information that has come to light. We know he was thrown out of a bar recently for alleged drunkeness, that he did have temporary housing much of the time, that some people in the neighborhood interacted with him, and that he has not been seen in the area since before Lisa went missing... He is described to be in his fortyish and clean cut and was often on a bicycle.

I don't believe handyman is a likely suspect, but who knows? I hope he is found and questioned asap.

We would always see it at the top of the driveway during hunting season when they were going and/or coming in from the weekend. Noting that hunters always try to camouflage I always had a giggle of that turquoise camper 'blending' anywhere!

Why don't the police publish his photo to come forward as a witness? The fact that they don't makes me think that he is not a serious suspect.

And how do they happen to have a photo of him, anyway?

Police viewed surveillance video of Jersey taken at one-eyed-jack's bar from saturday, two nights before lisa was taken. perhaps they got a screen shot of jersey from the tape.

He has a long rap sheet. He recently stopped visiting his probation officer, which indicates decompensation or backsliding. He steals from the local market. His rap sheet includes B&E.

He crashed with his buddy in the house directly across the street after his girfriend was evicted in August.

He's (seemingly) blown town or at least taken up a new domicile.

He hasn't come forward to clear HIMSELF.

Tell me he wouldn't be bold enough to break in.
Tell me he's the stable type of criminal because he gets a haircut.

Oh, he'd be bold enough to break in. But - take a baby?

The good news would be he and his girfriend were in cahoots...for some more benign purpose like fraud. But this I doubt.

The bad news/worst would be he's anti-social enough to want to harm others to feel more powerful and would take a baby and hurt it, for kicks, revenge, or paraphilic gratification.

I can't tell you anything because I don't know if he will have proof of being a hundred miles away on surveillance video since the day before Lisa went missing, or much anything else about his whereabouts since the bar episode two days before Lisa went missing. That's why I said I believe he shouldn't be dismissed, he needs to be found, and while I think he seems unlikely to abduct a baby (jmo), who knows?

Nowhere did I indicate being clean cut absolves him from suspicion. Instead, I agreed with another poster that early reports of a drunken homeless handyman may have rendered an incorrect mental picture of Jersey, because since that time a description has been provided. The description comes from those that have seen him and interacted with him. I know your money is on him and you may be right, I respect your opinion.

Right now, I simply would like to see him questioned before placing any bets. JMO...
