I didn't research that--and I've never come across that situation in the research that I've done--I'll have to admit. So, yes I will give you that--but in my opinion--I believe he was telling the truth to his mother about that--why would he lie to his mother (hopefully the one person who he would know and trust the most)?

He wasn't talking to LE--he was talking to his mother....

It didn't have anything to do with his confession....or are you saying that he told his mother that because he believed that LE convinced him it happened and he decided to confess that to his mother....doesn't make sense to me....

BD also told his mother after the 3/1/06 interview that the cops got "into his head".

Fassbender says in the 5/13/06 interview "If you're truly sorry to the Halbachs, you'll tell your mother about this. OK ?". Then Wiegart chimes in and says "Are you gonna do that ?" and then "When are you gonna do that ?"

If that isn't leading someone on, I don't know what is ... I really believe Brendan thought he was going home soon.

I wasn't implying that you did the research ;-) What I meant was that I think it would be hard to find research that applies to this case. This was said during a confession where IMO he was coerced into confessing to a brutal murder. The allegation is brought up on page 845, near the bottom of the page, of this link https://www.docdroid.net/rRe12qJ/13may06transcript.pdf.html, his May 13th interview.

As for the timing.... Mike O'Kelly interviewed BD on May 12th... without his lawyer. I think we have all seen the video, or clips of. After that interview, O'Kelly or Len sets up an interview for Brendan and Wiegert/Fassbender, based on the confession that O'Kelly got out of BD.

Come May 13th.... Wiegert tells BD he should tell his mom... probably on the phone, ya know, cuz it's easier and he shouldn't wait until tomorrow. This, IMO, is so they would have it on the recorded phone call.

Here is the particular parts I'm talking about during that May 13th confession..... this one is before anything sexual is brought up....

This is from after...

He didn't decide it was a good idea to tell his mother... they told him how it would be a good idea. And the beginning of that phone call too... he asks his mom if she had talked to "them".

JMO but they played this kid. Don't know how they sleep at night. It's heartbreaking tbh.

Hmmm... Right after Fassbender asked him if she was crying or saying anything? Was she begging for her life? Yeah, BD was certainly coming up with tons of information right after the investigators suggested it to him.

Explain something to me... If Dassey was telling the truth about Avery murdering Halbach why did he tell investigators at the very end that he was sad because he thought for months Steven hadn't killed her? Doesn't quite fit if Dassey watched Avery kill her.

Well He didn't know. They KNEW they kept telling him, We already know, We will protect you, just say what we want you to say. Not that truth you know, the truth we know. And if they got him to admit to murder someone very well could admit to being sexually abused or assaulted. People do lie about that. They convinced him to say he was a rapist and murderer why not also a victim. My opinion was they knew he was lying about the confession. What they really wanted was him to be used against Avery. maybe planting the abuse there would have gotten him a lighter sentence through the crooked LK lawyer who was trying to get him a deal. Maybe that is why it was also planted into his statements. JMO

Missy, I believe it was on Reddit and I'll try and find it. There are various references (w/o the name and fishing) as to a young female relative of SA's claiming molestation.

ahhh thanks! I did have a look earlier, I think I found "M". Who would be a niece to SA.... Kayla's sister. I see from that link that the mother filed the complaint but the girl didn't want to/didn't talk (maybe that is why they never filed charges?), my guess is she would have been about 17 at the time, not like she couldn't talk (meaning too young). I know I have read 'rumour' that the mother just didn't like SA, period. So I'm just not too sure about this allegation and would give reason to why the kids were "talking about it" since the mother filed that before TH's murder and BD's confessions.

Going to facebook... it's interesting to see who is friends with who.... who is on the family 'Justice for SA and BD' support page. The niece is... but the mother isn't, but the mother is friends (posting pictures, etc with) some people who I have seen saying that they "know SA/BD are innocent".

Oh... and would it be weird if Scott T. is friends with someone who might have been a juror? (not the one that left and has been in the media that we all know)

OT: I took a bit of time away from here today.... working on my other conspiracy theory... just why oh why the hockey team I cheer for can't seem to win a game!!! haha Tonight... I may just talk to my family *gasp*

Back peddling? Lessening his part in it all? Take your pick. Imo, BD was his own worst enemy. I don't agree with his lawyers actions. However, I do feel that if BD just co-operated and took a plea bargain, he would most probably be nearly finished his sentence now. He would have some hope for a future.

Too Funny Missy!!! :floorlaugh::floorlaugh: Took yesterday off too!

They can't win because we have the best players down here...LOL

I actually found a posting by JS which lead me to her FB page. So I decided to browse her friends. Found it ironic that she is friends with EA.

In regard to Marie--I had read that she had kept a journal and everything was documented in the journal. As I understand, at first the girl didn't want to talk (probably afraid of SA and he probably threatened her and her family) but then decided to. I didn't read the mother didn't like SA--I read the mother was uncomfortable with the relationship between SA and Marie, which is why she went to the police. I had read the family contacted the police several times regarding this incident.

I believe that I read the police had investigated and found no inappropriate behavior on SA's part; otherwise, I suspect he would have been charged with something. All of this could have been invented by Marie's mom with her obvious dislike for SA.

hmmm see, there is a lot of rumour's LOL I have read that the mother absolutely hates SA, always had. Her family .... is also his family, so I'm not sure about all of that. Because we really don't know much, and don't have access to the allegation or the complaint, I'm just going to leave it at that. I have some serious questions about the mothers motive in filing a complaint and the fact that SA was not charged, but I don't know enough to really say it's true or not true, and really.... I don't want assume he didn't do anything inappropriate or he did, because we just don't know.

JS? ~ I can't place who that is? It's interesting to see the facebook dynamics though .... who is friends with who, who comments on who's posts. I am shocked that some of these people haven't set their profiles to private yet LOL

And psssst.... Minnesota is my team right now haha and they fired their coach last night... so we'll see how long that conspiracy lasts LOL

Where did you guys find the mom had a dislike of SA--I had not read that--I had read she was uncomfortable with the relationship between Marie and SA. I would be the same way if I witnessed a relative forming an intimate bond with my daughter. Ewee....

p.s. Blackhawks are the best! LOL

oh duhhhhhhh! I sat here for a good 15 minutes drinking my coffee and couldn't figure it out LOL And yes... she is active friends with some people that are claiming SA is innocent... and it strikes me as odd lol

As for CL (the mother, her last name has changed since her divorce from EA), if I come across the info I read again I will post it, it was so early on, not sure if I will find it again LOL

How would Dassey be lessening his role in the crime by saying for months he thought his uncle hadn't killed Halbach? If he was was there, watching it, participating in it and helping clean it up afterwards, how could he possibly think his uncle didn't do it?

All you need to do in order to figure out his "confessions" are made up is read them.

Fassbender: Where was her truck?
Brendan: Outside.
Fassbender: Alright. We know that's a lie. So where did he put her truck?
Brendan: In his garage?
Fassbender: That's better. Now you're telling the truth. Did he have the door open or shut?
Brendan: Open.
Fassbender: I can tell when you're lying and I don't like it.
Brendan: Closed.

...........

Fassbender: So after he shot her what did you guys do next?
Brendan: We carried her out and put her on the fire.
Fassbender: No. That doesn't make sense. We have evidence that suggests other stuff happened in that garage first. Something with the truck.
Brendan: After he shot her he put her in the truck for a second and then we put her on the fire.
Fassbender: That's better.

The icing on the cake?

Fassbender: Why did you tell us before that you cut her throat?
Brendan: I was guessing.

Fassbender: Why did you tell us you cut her hair?
Brendan: I was guessing.

Not "I was lying." Not "I was trying to come up with a story." He was trying to guess the correct answer that the investigators wanted to hear. If you believe his confessions are truthful, which parts do you believe? She was shot once? Twice? Ten? Five? Throat cut or not cut? Hair cut or not cut? Stabbed in the chest or not stabbed in the chest? That the fire didn't smell? That it did smell? That the fire burned for about an hour at which time Avery was already smashing up her bones? That he rode in the SUV to the pit or didn't ride along to the pit? That Avery hid the knife in the truck? That her shirt was blue, white or black? That Halbach did or didn't have pubic hair? That the murder was a random, last minute choice or a planned event from three days prior? That Halbach was naked when stabbed or had a shirt on that had a knife hole in it? That a creeper was used to move the body or they just carried her? That she was stabbed while sitting in the front of her SUV, in the bedroom or in the garage?

And which parts of his "confessions" do you believe have been backed up with independent physical evidence?

I have read them! Quiet frankly I am getting tired of pro Avery posters insinuating to anyone who disagrees with them that they haven't read anything.

He said he was "guessing". Was he telling the truth...no! Did he know he wasn't telling thruth...yes! So that means he was LYING...no matter how you or he wants to word it.

Sorry, lying implies that you actually know the truth and are hiding it. Guessing does not.

I have never insinuated this.

Please, do not group us all together.

In fact, many of us supporters, tin hats and all can and do try to look at things from everyone's perspective.

I have personally, have thanked folks who think SA is guilty for showing both sides of a coin, or giving input at times.
