Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berkut_(special_police_force)
The "Berkut" (Ukrainian: Бе́ркут) was the system of special police of the Ukrainian militsiya within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.[4][5] Since late March 2014 its Crimean unit in the Republic of Crimea has been incorporated into the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs preserving its old name. Following the 2014 Ukrainian revolution, when Berkut was held responsible by the new government for most of the nearly 100 civilian deaths,[7] acting Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov signed a decree that dissolved the agency.[8][9] As a result of the 2014 Crimean crisis and the referendum in Crimea the Russian Federation granted accession to the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol as federal subjects of Russia on 21 March 2014.[10]A Three days later Russia announced that the Crimean Berkut unit would preserve its name as it incorporates into the Russian Interior Ministry.[3]

RUSSIAN PRESIDENT PUTIN'S EARLY DEPART FROM G20

The Guardian reports:

Russian President Vladimir Putin departs Brisbane, Australia, on Sunday before the formal end of the two-day G20 summit. Putin said he was leaving before the release of the official communiqué because of the long flight to Russia and he wanted to get some sleep. Putin came under intense pressure from G20 leaders over his government's backing for pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine

FIRST PARTS OF WRECKAGE MH17 SALVAGED TODAY; AGAIN HUMAN REMAINS FOUND

The Dutch Department of Safety and Justice announces:
http://www.rijksoverheid.nl/ministeries/venj/nieuws/2014/11/16/eerste-wrakstukken-mh17-geborgen.html

Translation:

At the crash site in eastern Ukraine the first pieces of wreckage of flight MH17 were salvaged today. Also, once again, human remains and personal belongings were found during the salvage operations.

According to the Dutch Safety Board, the salvage operation has gone well. The salvaged debris was taken to the train station in Torez and there partly loaded on train wagons. The salvaged wreckage will be transported by train to Kharkov at a later moment.

When conditions allow this, the salvage will be continued tomorrow. It is expected that salvage of all wreckage will take several days. The Dutch Safety Board has commissioned the salvage of the wreckage for the investigation into the cause and the development of the crash of flight MH17. Among other things, the Safety Board wants to make a reconstruction of a section of the plane.

The human remains and personal belongings found during the salvage operations, were recovered by members of the Dutch repatriation mission. The mayor of Hrabove also transferred some personal possessions to the repatriation mission today. These personal belongings include two passports, bank cards and credit cards, that have been recently submitted by local residents.

The human remains and personal belongings will be transferred to Kharkov for a first forensic check. The mortal remains will return to The Netherlands at a time yet to be determined.

The government is satisfied that on the basis of the agreements that were made under the leadership of the OSCE the salvage of the wreckage of MH17 could start today. The security situation is and remains fragile. Today once again, a mortar struck at approximately 1500 meters from the crash site. As indicated before, everyday it will be examined whether work at the location is possible.

Last night, a source in Mr Putin's delegation in Australia said the Russian leader planned to leave the G20 summit early, after Western leaders blasted Moscow for the crisis in Ukraine and threatened more sanctions.

Russia denied it was involved in a recent escalation of military activity in Ukraine, where fighting has claimed more than 4,000 lives, but faced strong rebukes from Western leaders, including US president Barack Obama and Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper.

"I guess I'll shake your hand but I have only one thing to say to you: you need to get out of Ukraine," Mr Harper told Mr Putin at the summit, according to his spokesman Jason MacDonald.

Mr Putin's isolation at the G20 summit was also evident with his placing on the outer edge for the formal leaders' photograph.

I'm SO glad that all the leaders of the G20 Summit did this!! Go home, Putin!! Love it!

And again - I want to THANK YOU all that have posted news on this!! :gthanks:

Interesting article about why Putin could have left the G20 early. He apparently had a very long 6-hour meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday, a meeting from which he seemed to emerge exhausted and disappointed after unsuccessful talks with Merkel ... with whom he always had a good trade agreement and relationship.

"This core of German Russophiles now looks to have evaporated, and with it Putin loses the only Western partner that could have stopped the isolation of his country."

"Thanks largely to his own anti-Western bluster, Putin’s support in Russia now relies more than ever on his defiance toward the West, and he will sooner accept the role of a pariah abroad than weakling at home."

"Malaysian Ambassador to the Netherlands Dr Fauziah Mohd Taib told local media that Malaysia has not been invited yet to be involved in the criminal investigation into the downing of Flight MH17, although Dutch-led workers have already started combing the crash site in Ukraine, it is reported here Tuesday.

Malaysia is currently only part of the MH17 technical investigation team, he said.

Malaysia's Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said recently that Malaysia had expressed its stand very clearly that it must be part of the criminal investigation team and had informed Dutch authorities of its intention."

Pretty vague:

Interfax reports:
http://en.interfax.com.ua/news/general/234998.html

Ukraine's Security Service Chief Valentyn Nalyvaichenko has reported the detention of a terrorist group that was preparing a terrorist attack on the delegation of the Dutch government in Kharkiv.
"During the interrogation of a participant of this terrorist group, we received clear evidence that Russian special services, which by the way trained the group members near the town of Tambov in one of the Russian FSB training camps, issued an order and provided explosives for a terrorist attack against the government delegation of the Netherlands, who planned to visit the state-run Malyshev Plant," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

OSCE REACHES AGREEMENTS ON THE SALVAGE OF THE WRECKAGE MH17

The Dutch Department of Security and Justice informs:
http://www.rijksoverheid.nl/ministe...-afspraken-over-berging-wrakstukken-mh17.html

Translation:

News | 14-11-2014

Today under the direction of OSCE agreements were reached about the recovery of wreckage of the MH17.
Salvaging the wreckage is important for further investigation.

Tomorrow extra team members of the Dutch mission will travel from Kharkov to Donetsk for logistical support. Hopefully they will begin as soon as possible with their tasks together with the local emergency services (SES). Salvaging the wreckage is done under the responsibility of the Dutch Safety Board (OVV). The OVV will inform - as soon as this is possible - when the salvage has actually started. The security situation remains fragile and every day it is examined if work at the crash site is possible.

There is no mention of new identifications during the past week.
