New England Serial Killer Speculation Thread

Thanks to all who are adding articles to this thread. I'm about three hours' drive north of Tfeel safer -- there were doormen 24 hrs/day and a pass was required to enter, etc., no going out alone afteoronto Canada but I recall visiting an uncle in Boston during the Strangler's heyday.
My bold.
Same here -- my cousin and two of her friends (all three from Chapel Hill, NC), were up there in Boston, in good jobs, sharing a very safe apartment in a nice area of Boston. The apt. had 24-hour doormen who required a pass to enter any apt. only after any one of the 3 women approved entrance to the apt., etc. The three made several rules to make them safer -- no going out alone after 6:00pm; etc. They never had any problems.
I was several years younger than the 3 were, but I do remember the Boston strangler situation.

Following. It's too early to say for sure, but I am betting at least two cases will have the same perpetrator. They may not all be foul play, but some of the cases, yes.
Godspeed to all of the LE involved. They have very important jobs here...
Agreed, ChatteringBirds. Hoping this will stop soon with solid arrest(s), and an end to this nightmare.

Since the bodies are just now being found, we don't know how close together the deaths were. But -- if it is an SK for say 4, isn't that very quick timing? Don't serial killers normally have "cooling off" periods, but when they start murdering in quick intervals such as these are when they get caught?

Is this the beginning of a new serial killer, or the ending of one?
Not ready to throw a name like Bundy out there, but Bundy did get bolder as he went along.
His killings were wherever he saw a chance. <shudder>

Hey Gummyshoe! Media is in a feeding frenzy, just like with the so called "Lady Bird Lake" serial killer in Austin. Important point to look out for:
1. Causes of death, are they consistent with all "Victims"
2. Geographic distribution of remains
3. Status of remains when discovered .....posing, positioning, clothing, body covered v. uncovered.
4. How were each discovered

Moving this here

it's so obvious to me these are serial murders. I think the strange confluence of discoveries and the huge number of victims is pure chaos . So many of these victims look similar to each other..their ages etc...why are so many of these unconnected look alike victims dead? who are the other dead?
There is one male? correct? out of all these female victims? no no , someone has been going around killing..maybe he drives a truck and goes all over the area up there. mOO

I’m not a local in anyway whatsoever, but I did some research and yes New Haven to Norwalk, and killingly to Groton are like 45-47 mins away from each other. Just an observation. I’m sure someone has made the connection that these towns are close to each other already.

Identified as Naysha Mendez, 35

He said that Mendez’s body was found in the dirt path in the center of the cemetery, not far from the crematorium. “We’re investigating whether she was killed there or she was left there” after being killed, he said.

A press release sent out Monday afternoon stated that, “Based on the number of wounds to Ms. Mendez’s body, it was evident to investigators that this was a homicide.” That press release also states that an autopsy by the medical examiner’s office ruled that the manner of death was a homicide.

Jacobson said that police have “collected a significant amount of evidence” already, and believe this was an “isolated incident” unrelated to any other deaths in New Haven. He also said police have not yet recovered a weapon connected to this case

NEW HAVEN — A man charged with murder in the brutal stabbing and slashing of a woman whose body was found in a local cemetery told police the victim owed him $700 and would not pay, according to an arrest warrant

Edwin Arroyo-Roman, 55, confessed to killing Naysha Mendez, 35, in Evergreen Cemetery on May 2, the warrant said. In addition to murder, Arroyo-Roman faces a tampering with evidence charge.

Unidentified Human Remains – On April 10, Wayland and Framingham Firefighters found human remains when responding to a brush fire near the Massachusetts Turnpike. The case remains under investigation. The remains were found near a large homeless encampment.

I think Dr Ramsland understands the chaos around these cases really well.
‘I think people are highly influenced by the LISK [Long Island serial killer] situation where remains were found all over the place and now they're beginning to be connected to one individual,’ Dr. Ramsland told the Daily Mail.

‘Because of the way that investigation was poorly handled, because there were cover-ups and the FBI was shoved out, I think people are very suspicious of police handling these investigations.

‘I don't blame them because I think that one was so egregious and embarrassing for that area, that I can understand people saying, “Well, why would we wait on the police?”’

Updating my post from upthread, new developments in italics:

The discovery of Adriana Suazo’s body in a wooded area in Milton, Massachusetts has intensified growing concerns across New England about the number of unexplained deaths in the region in recent months.

Suazo, a 21-year-old Boston resident, was found by a passerby around 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, in Milton, Mass, which is approximately 8 miles south from the capitol city, according to a press release from the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office.

The department said that there were no obvious signs of trauma, and the cause of death is under investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
