ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Navajo Department of Health and Navajo Area Indian Health Service have announced 115 new cases of COVID-19 and four additional deaths. The Navajo Nation is now at a total of 813 cases of COVID-19 with 28 confirmed deaths.

The confirmed cases include 266 cases in New Mexico:

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The State of New Mexico in partnership with the Navajo Nation, donated 9,720 boxes of food to the Navajo Nation Wednesday. According to a release, more than 80,000 pounds of rice, beans, potatoes and watermelons, apples and onions were delivered. The deliveries were made to designated areas and distributions will be made to every Navajo chapter in New Mexico.

On Wednesday, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham said because of the way the state has handled the pandemic so far, with social distancing, testing and determining how and where the virus is spreading, New Mexico could actually be part of a national pilot program.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

For the first time, KOAT is learning more about where the COVID-19 cases in New Mexico came from.

Doctors at the University of New Mexico Hospital are closely analyzing the lab results of COVID-19 patients in our state, and they’ve found that many of our first infections were travel-related, coming from places like Europe and New York.
