I'm telling ya, these big bullies are raised to believe they are special and invincible. They get their arrogant swagger by knowing that momma, daddy, or uncle, etc, will take up for them. And this is one way that criminals are born.

This was from a very early report that said searchers came across a vehicle that was pulled to the side of the road and the hood felt warm to the touch...and it had camo in it. It was later ruled out as having anything to do with Holly's disappearance (I think).

Now really people....how can granddaddy "KNOW" that his grandson is innocent? He may think it or feel it or believe it....but when the family starts saying they "know" that their loved one is innocent, it drives me nuts.

I think he suffers from cognitive dissonance and a lot of arrogance. Seems that arrogance runs in the family.

That is an extremely high bond for assault, but he did threaten to "gut her like a fish" which doesn't sound like something a girl would make up just because she was jealous of her sister.

However, with the searches going on he is probably considered a flight risk by the TBI and FBI. So they wouldn't want him to bond out and just disappear or intimidate other witnesses.

My guess is we don't know everything about him yet. They could be planning a Grand Jury and we wouldn't know until it was over.

Speaking of granddaddy, do I understand correctly that he lives in the house and Zach lives in the trailer? If so, around the time Holly went missing, was the granddaddy at home or could he have been out of town, on a trip, etc. and Zach had free rein of the property.

The woman ZA was accused of putting a gun to her head and gutting her was also arrested today. Maybe for falsifying that report? Maybe, just maybe, TBI doesn't care at the moment how they 'get 'em' into custody and are taking advantage of the illiterati (LOL) of some of these players... Thinking aloud here.

Bray is currently in custody at the Benton County Jail, according to jail records. Bray was arrested Saturday on a charge of failure to appear on previous theft charges.

Yup. I know the charge is FTA. I think I posted that earlier here (maybe not). My convoluted point is that things are in major-league flux with this mess, and I get the sense that TBI is rounding up anyone and everyone they can on any charge that will 'stick' for now.

It isn't boring to me n/t. There are always side issues in any case but I am not even sure the love triangle is a side issue per se. And meth heads can be quite violent.

I think the girlfriend is just one of those kind of foolish women that supports her 'man' over believing anyone else including her own sister. Reminds me of mothers that look the other way when they know their man is raping or molesting their child and they support the man and call the victim a liar.:scared:

I do believe the sister of the g/f and evidently so does LE since he has not only been charged with assault but 'aggravated assault' which is a higher more serious charge.

But what I would love to know is WHY did he put a gun to this woman's head in the first place and threaten to gut her with the knife? It does show he is extremely violent and carries both a gun and a knife even though he is a convicted felon. It shows laws and rules means nothing to him. The reason WHY he did so could be why this case has broken wide open in the last few days.

The threat could be surrounded around Holly's disappearance. I think it is highly probable that she spouted off something he didn't like and that is why he threatened to basically kill her if she didn't shut up. And the girlfriend's story doesn't make sense to me. The threatened woman was at his home when this happened and there is no indication that she is jealous of the relationship that I have seen other than the words of AB who has a motive to take up for her man. Sounds just like other stupid women in the past that throws jealousy into the mix to dismiss what really happened.

In many cases everything is linked in some manner or the other. So the fact that so many are locked up now and he threatened to kill a woman is NOT boring to me in the least.

The more cast of characters involved the more likely someone knows something about Holly and who did what to her and will start singing like a canary. So the more that enters the 'ring' concerning this case..... the better for the Bobo family when finding out the truth about Holly.

Perhaps he abducted her, or she went to his place willingly, but then he wouldn't let her leave. I've read that when people get really high on meth, they have an insatiable libido. Maybe he wanted somebody at his disposal for awhile....a sex slave. AB's facebook says we got engaged back in January so why would she have been jealous. He could have also lured her back by just telling her that he wanted to talk to her about her sister. When she wanted to leave, may have been when he pulled the gun and knife.

Are there any other victims of serious crime represented here other than me and my family? I'd like to know if your experiences parallel what I'm about to say:

Personally, I don't see anything all that unusual in the clumsy way that TBI and local authorities seem to have handled this situation. I'm not confident that they actually have something real with this most recent search. I think that they had a seemingly solid tip. I agree with that. But we all pretend that warrants are hard to get. In some places: they are. In rural areas like this and in situations like this: probably not as high a threshold as you might think.

I'm afraid that American culture has been fed a steady diet of gun-slinging cop shows and pseudo-forensic crime programs that they aren't aware just how hard justice really is to come by and how easy it is to escape capture. There is a cognitive dissonance that we live with because we can't allow ourselves to acknowledge that 3-5% of people in our society are sociopaths (aka psychopaths) and that, unfortunately, a small but painful number of these people commit crimes for which they never get caught and never face justice. It's a lot easier to get away with serious crimes than a lot of people think...especially for those who are sociopaths and lack any kind of social norms and boundaries.

I see a lot of Holly Bobo's situation in our own family's struggle for justice (though the crimes are very different) and it pains me because we're both waiting while it feels like the criminal holds all of the cards and law enforcement doesn't have a clue how to deal with the situation at hand. I'm so tired of the constant negativity towards them. Of course they acted weird! There is no normal way to react to a horrible crime that you never in a million years think would affect you. You live in a fog. You get up every day and hope again that maybe you've been asleep and the whole thing is just a horrible dream. But then you go into your daily routine and the person that you loved isn't there and you know that it's all very, very real. And you grasp for answers every. single. day. And you deal with a system and a media and a society that really doesn't care about what happens in your "case"...they need resolution...climax...unfolding plot...interesting characters...your life becomes everyone else's fascinating story. And they can pick it up and look at it for fun and then put it back down. But at the end of the day, you come home to a house that doesn't feel so much like a home because there's an emptiness...and you lay your head down on the pillow at night and think to yourself as you drift off into a pharmaceutical-induced sleep: "I miss the way it used to be. Maybe tomorrow will be better." It's not a story or a case or a "situation" for the Bobos or for us or any other victimized family...it's what we call "new normal."

I hope I'm wrong. I hope I come here to WS and eat crow for doubting the TBI and LE. I'll eat a double-portion if it means that the Bobo family gets justice and even, hopefully, their daughter back.

Yes, this is something I have read but can't recall where so I need to look it up. He shot her because he wanted money, apparently for drugs.

harlanky, Yes, there are other victims of serious crime here. Our crime was solved but when the Guilty Verdict was announced we all just looked at each other with blank stares wondering "now what?" While you get justice, whatever that is, your family member is still never coming back. There is no answer to the "why." Some people kill for no other reason than they are evil. I still keep thinking that the "why" will be answered someday but does it even matter.

I don't find the way this case has been handled UNUSUAL...
but just because it's NORMAL doesn't mean it's RIGHT. :tantrum:

We have had both victims and perps in my family unfortunately.
So I have been on both sides of the situation...
"I can't believe that happened to them" and the "I can't believe he did that."

A missing person that went unresolved is something we haven't dealt with.
(Our 3 missing people were murders that were mercifully found quickly, 2/3 were solved.)
I struggle to judge the behavior of family when I've seen that backfire. (Elizabeth and Somer.)

When my cousin was murdered (unsolved) my Aunt and Uncle acted as if she never existed to start with.
They simply "erased" her memory, pictures, belongings from their life and moved on.
They literally seem to have forgotten her. It is the WEIRDEST thing I've ever seen. :scared:
If there had been any suspicion on her parents they would have been convicted for their behavior. :twocents:

My Aunt and her roommate were brutally assaulted a couple years ago, her roommate nearly died.
People heard their screams for help and completely ignored them.
The cops have done NOTHING to solve the case and then my Aunt died unexpectedly 8 months ago.
I can't even get the cops to call me back to inform them their only witness is dead. :banghead:

I do tend to have a jaded view of LE (I'm also a huge supporter of them, just don't have a lot of faith.)
I am not sure what is going on behind the scenes in this case... so I won't judge LE here.
I just REALLY hope it leads to a break in the case and Holly's family learns the truth. lease:

I am not believing this guy is the perp. I just don't see it. So much planning and execution for someone who possibly has head messed up with meth. I have been following this case since the beginning like most posters. I was born not far from this place so it has a special interest for me.

My opinions only, no facts here:

Yes. The abduction was fairly well planned, and physical evidence appears to have been planted where it would be found.

The end does not justify the means. I mean to say, if anyone is convicted in this case without a body or without very compelling DNA evidence, I will consider the case unsolved. I consider "jailhouse confessions" and the like as no better than hearsay. Hopefully, no jailhouse confession will magically appear in this case.
