Selection for special grand jury meeting is about to start. @wsmv #HollyBobo

I would assume this is a new special grand jury if they are about to begin selection of the panel. In Tennessee, grand juries are chosen by placing the names of the qualified jurors into a box and they are drawn out by the presiding judge in open court. Special grand juries are chosen the same way.

Here is the TN Rule of Criminal Procedure on grand juries:

Well, all I can say is I picked a great day to start my new "lifestyle change." Where is the chocolate in this house?!

Oh yeah...we got rid of it. Ugh.

I hope they tell the family before the pc. I cant imagine having to hear something bad that way.
LE wouldn't do that to the family after all this time, imo. They may wait until after the GJ meeting, but it will be before the presser.

Has anyone ever seen a case progress like this? I mean presser is announced and press has been saying charges in connection with Holly's case yet the GJ meeting hasn't even happened at that point. Given the silence prior this just has me spinning. Must have something solid.

Never. My mind is blown. I suppose it happens, but rarely does word of a GJ get out before arrests are even made. Seems to me that's a dangerous course of action as anyone not in custody can abscond. The speed this thing is moving at just blows my mind though. I even looked up Tennessee procedures and it seems to me the usual process AFTER an arrest is to first have a preliminary hearing before a judge to determine if there is enough evidence to support bringing charges and, if so, it would then go to a Grand Jury to again determine if there is sufficient evidence, whether it amounts to probably cause or whatever standard Tennessee uses. At this point, we have a Grand Jury and are apparently not only bypassing the preliminary hearing, but convening the Grand Jury even prior to an arrest.

Judge: "I've been petitioned by the DA to call grand jury back into session" extremely rare he says #HollyBobo @nc5 #breaking
https://twitter.com/chrisconte

If this quote is correct, they did not impanel a new grand jury. They simply recalled the grand jury from the previous term of court back into session.

The Bobos know....have no fear about that.
They have suffered so much. I'm sure in many ways it might bring some relief to know what happened to their little girl.
She will always be young and beautiful. She will always be cherished. She will always be free.... :rose:

LE has arrested everybody in sight! They must have everyone of them already in custody on other charges. What a sorry group.

Almost 3 years not knowing. So many rumors of who might be involved, may turn out to be true. Hopefully someone finally got the courage to tell the truth, what happened to Holly. I really am afraid with multiple arrests this was horrific. I sure hope not, but a lot is going through my mind right now. I feel so bad for Holly and her family.

I think we all need one big gigantic group(((((((((((((((((((((((hug))))))))))))))) right now and to keep the Bobo family in our thoughts and prayers as they go through this very difficult time.

All of you are like my own family and I wish I could reach out and hug every one of you.

I wouldn't want to be anywhere else when the PC is held but here with my WS friends. I feel I am sharing it with those who I know really cares so much about victims and those who want justice.

The last time I had jury duty (inTN) after they called the roll to make sure everyone was there that got a summons, they immediately announced that the ones who did not show up would get a visit by LE....the next thing they did was draw the names from a hat for the grand jury....those unlucky folks left the courtroom immediately and were taken to another room and began work right then...we never saw them again. I have no idea how a special grand jury works....maybe the same folks would be called back in to do more work.

Don't expect LE to tell the family everything now or later. When my sister was murdered, I was kept in the dark about pretty much everything, including a plea deal. It might as well have happened to a stranger living 1000 miles away as far as I was concerned.

For Lent? Today is Ash Wednesday.

Actually no. But I did recognize that today is Ash Wednesday. Its a time when we recognize, "From dust we came, To dust we shall return." But then on Easter, we find hope in eternal life with Christ.
Hoping this faith is comforting Holly's family and friends today....

Extremely rare indeed.

Now I am wondering if they are coming back if the DA has additional charges to present to them?

IMO

IMO, I'm beginning to see that gangs just look differently in TN.

Does TN not have courts.casenet.gov?
