I'm not sure what to think of this grand mal seizure. FWIW, my youngest daughter suffers from a seizure disorder , unkown etiology, and has daily petit mal seizures and sporadic grand mal seizures. During a grand mal, her eyes roll back, she falls, arms and legs begin to jerk uncontrollably and froth has come from her mouth. So in that respect, JG's description was right on target. As my daughter was still in diapers when this all began, I can't say that she never lost control of her bladder, only that since she was out of diapers, she has never lost control of her bladder or vomited, which is also common. After a grand mal, she is very slow to respond, almost like slow motion. This lasts up to an hour. She is also extremely tired and sleeps for hours. However, I do know that EVERY time she has had a grand mal episode, post seizure activity shows up on her EEG, sometimes even into the next day. I can't make sense of KC's test revealing nothing at all. At the very least, I would think that if she had suffered a true grand mal, an EEG would at least show some post seizure activity. I agree with PP, I think she made sure her parents were not privy to the results. As she was over 18 at the time, the physicians would be under no obligation to provide them with this information.
