Three-year-old boy stomped to death by a close family friend

In August 2015, Nicola Dally-Paki left her son Moko Rangitoheriri and eight-year old daughter (who cannot be named) with Tania Shailer, 26, who she had known for 10 years.
Over the course of two-weeks the young children were subjected to unimaginable horrific acts of violence at the hands of Shailer, an early childcare teacher, and her 43-year-old partner David William Haerewa.
The attacks on the children escalated until the pair's focus shifted solely to Moko who was subjected to a relentless four-day beating in a vile attempt to see how much damage they could inflict on the young boy.

I hope this pair spend the rest of their life in jail. Too angry and sickened to write any more.

Moko killers' appeal fails, sentence stands

An appeal by the killers of Moko Rangitoheriri to reduce their manslaughter sentences has failed, as a Court of Appeal judge rules their punishment is "entirely within range and not manifestly excessive".

Tania Shailer and David Haerewa were jailed in June last year for 17 years with a minimum non-parole period of nine years after pleading guilty to the manslaughter of 3-year-old Moko.
