No 6:30 p.m. phone call

At the press conference Tuesday evening Young said that reports of a call being made from Hernandez's phone at 6:30 p.m. on the day that the teen disappeared are not accurate. Young did ask if anyone has any information about such a phone call that they contact authorities.

But for all the details authorities are seeking, very few are being released. Young brushed off questions about whether searchers have found anything of note.

"We aren't going to provide details," she told reporters at Monday's briefing.

Yes, JY is one of our all time favorite people! (NOT) Her handling of information in other missing persons cases has been atrocious in my opinion. She does not create a welcoming atmosphere for informers to come forward. And she releases so little information that the public simply has no way to help.

There had to be something from that phone on Wednesday evening, obviously. They are wishing that information had never been released.

Good Morning! This may answer your question...

Ok how about this. I trust some of you super sleuthers know the answer. Could the phone companies have ' blocks of time' that they use........similar to a quarterly report in a year but by hours? So could 6 pm be the end of a block like the 2 to 6 pm BLOCK of time. So Abby could have used the phone at 2 , 3, 4 pm but not again but they report it in the block " not used since 6 pm' , and upon further investigation they can track the exact time of the last use ie: 4:22 pm ( for example only ) . So they know it's not been used since 6 pm but that may not necessarily mean it was last used at 6 but sometime earlier. Boy that even confused me typing it. I hope it makes sense. It would almost make sense that they used blocks for initial reporting so they could pull the records from one block without the entire day when they know they only need the late afternoon records, so why pull things from 1 am that day.

IMO the flying receipt story is bogus. they had the block of time established (2:30 - 7:17) so no need for time stamps until they found a suspicious vehicle, or AH herself, on surveillance. it would be prudent to go through all five hours, IMO, not one specific vehicle at a specific time...

there is one DD between school and home and it's not a drive-through. the other is past her house and IS a drive-through. considering she was walking over two miles home, why bypass the walk-in to walk further? and why do they believe she was in or near a dunkin in the first place? enough to question an innocent motorist?

https://www.dunkindonuts.com/content/dunkindonuts/en/stores.html?a=conway, nh

furthermore, and this is not finger-pointing but merely a fact, that her BF's father lists DD as an employer. "java technician" he calls it. which one did he work at and is this purely coincidence...

thoughts?

Maybe I'm missing something...I thought LE found the receipt in the search area, it was dated for the day AH went missing, they somehow (assuming through the DD video) identified a matching car, found the car and determined it was not related to AH's disappearance.

You think something else transpired? I hate it when I'm completely out of the loop! If you don't mind, please bring me up to speed!!

A little convoluted, Schmae, but I think I can safely say, "IHAVENOCLUE!" :floorlaugh:

ETA: Darn it! IHAVENOCLUE isn't online to see my lame joke.

no, i'm not saying that at all...i'm sure there are hundreds of receipts in garbage cans and in the woods for a wednesday afternoon. receipts aren't necessary if you're looking at surveillance video from local businesses. most people buy a cup of coffee with cash anyway, the only receipts of importance IMO would be credit cards. surveillance video catches license plates and ID's, not receipts. kwim?

a matching car to what? did someone see her with a black truck? if that's the case, i totally agree with you that it's of importance. but not the receipt itself.

maybe i'm the one out of the loop...lol...

Wonder if they have checked her landlord and/or previous tenants? There's a reason they cordoned her house right away.

In all honesty, even if there were no obvious signs of misdeeds, they should always cordon the house if there's evidence that the missing person got home... how many cases have there been where the home has been overlooked too long?

BBM
A car that went through the drive-thru at the time the receipt indicated. That's what I mean by "matching car", lol. I just think the receipt brought them to the truck not the other way around.

ok i get what you're saying...my post was more about the who and where though, not the truck. why would she walk PAST her house to a drive-through dunkin, on foot, after walking over two miles already, rather than go to the dunkin on the way? that one didn't have a drive-thru so the receipt would've been moot. she doesn't have a car. was there someONE in particular she wanted to buy coffee from is what i'm implying. or was she meeting someone at the further dunkin, warranting LE to investigate THAT surveillance video? kwim?

I don't believe so, calls and texts are listed to the second

You may want to become aware of the T.O.S. of WS. Take it from a newbie who has gotten her hand slapped a few times :blushing:

I think 50% of my initial posts in this thread were removed! :seeya:

so the facts that we have so far, after 7 days are that AH was walking home from school, she was last seen at 2:30pm. They believe she made it home, but maybe she didn't. There may or may not have been some activity on her phone at cranmore mtn resort around 6:30pm. She has a BF and she also had an online older male friend. Her mother reported her missing at 7:17pm. So sometime between 2:30pm and 7pm she went missing. They haven't really widened the search beyond the immediate area of where she was last seen which leads me to believe they really don't know any more than we all do. It's so frustrating to have so much unknown, but I'm guessing we'll find out more after they've decided there's no further reason to hold information back. I don't believe they think she's still in the area, i believe they just keep trying to find her track somewhere and aren't able to find anything. Running down a fluttering dunkin donuts receipt isn't thorough searching, that screams desperation to me. Again, perhaps if they'd release information and enlist the eyes and ears of the massive amount of people out there they'd get better results. 7 days later it's unlikely anyone is going to remember a detail that may have been important.

Well, I don't see the receipt having anything to do with AH herself. Nothing that I've read suggests she had either gotten coffee that day, planned to get coffee that day, or even drank coffee ever. As far as I know, the receipt was found during the search (clearly in a place which seemed odd to LE) and they felt it warranted to go through the surveillance video from that DD to find the person it was associated with. LE did and have said it was a dead end.

All IMO!

The receipt shows me they are searching this area with a fine tooth comb. Part of me feels like they have a lot they are withholding. Part of me feels like they have nothing.

  • #915
Does Abigail's sister live with her and her mother? I'm just wondering if she's still in school and/or if she would usually be home at that time and wasn't on that day.

  • #916
Why though? I appreciate the data :)
I just think that's kind of bizarre and wonder what causes crime to be higher there . Any locals have a clue ?

I'm heavy hearted but must hit the sack. Here's praying this girls' beautiful smile is all over tv in the morning with a fantastical , adventurous tale but FOUND SAFE !!!!!!

I live in NH, most of the crime in North Conway are DWI's from all the apres ski bars in town and they have a huge factory outlet center, so you get idiots stealing sneakers and designer handbags.
It is a very safe town I vacation there often, most of the condo owners in town rent to travelers. You can find dozens for rent on Craigslist or Homeaway.
There was a running marquis banner on the Nancy Grace show last night that was indicating that she had been corresponding with an older boy online. But there was nothing mentioned about that in any of the local papers.

i absolutely agree with you on this...coffee has never been mentioned, anywhere at any time for any reason. the DD came out of nowhere.

LE says no significance...but that i question. they went to a great deal of trouble tracking down a latte'd grandma in a black truck. and they are backpedalling on the phone call. so...hm. maybe it's nothing...but my rabbit ears are twitching...

maybe it's menopause. :giggle:

IMO the phone/Cranmore info was a ploy to smoke someone out, they know who reacted to that info and now they deny it because they got the info they wanted.

I think the time of the receipt could be what interested them, maybe that person could have been responsible for Abigail's disappearance or they might have noticed someone or something.

not surprised your rabbit ears are twitching and I don't think its got anything to do with menopause.

Thank you. I caught up reading the thread (I thought) and all of a sudden Dunkin Donuts became suspect.

Good Morning everyone, my gut feeling is - they are watching frequent users of the DDonuts drive thru window. the truck they stopped yesterday had NH plates. Wasn't an unanswered question at a presser asked a few nights ago about a black truck ? Another feeling-- I still think Cranmore area is IMPORTANT. Read back a day on this thread and figure it out. Was it media that first mentioned Cranmore ?
They are watching locals maybe...moo

I am quoting my own post, therefore am admitting I am pathetic. -g. Have watched this wmur briefing countless times now, this has no message from LE, just media. Wmur must have been allowed to film this stop, sorta unusual. Woman did say she was visiting husband in hospital daily, right? Maybe SHE got coffee on Wednesday ? Who's to say ?

I think I am not a sleuther , big fail. Am going back to watching trials with geevee on Thursday.
