Since the boy's father is quoted in the UL article saying that he let AH ride along on jobs frequently, insurance coverage wasn't a concern.

Good point about the insurance. But it may not be a factor here because the boy could be older or because of the nature of the father's hauling business. Perhaps it is just his truck that is covered while he is using it for work. Maybe his father IS the business--just him and a truck.

The boy may say he "works" there on social media but that doesn't make it true. Or he may help his father occasionally or work there off the books. That probably happens a lot with something like a hauling business operated from a residence.

FWIW, I worked for my family's business starting when I was 10 years old. We were located in UT and CA. I worked my butt off, for no pay mind you, and I'm sure insurance was not even considered.

Teenagers can think they do a lot of things. I used to tell people I "kept house" when I was a teen. Found out how little I actually did when I grew up and really "kept house". I agree, he may say he works there but it might be more on the tune of helping out or teaching him how to work than actually working.

You're funny, Mom24! Dealing w/ 2 teens now, so I know where you are coming from.

"She came into our lives nine months ago, she was my boy's first girlfriend, and he wants his girlfriend home," said James D. Campbell of North Conway

"She used to ride along on runs with us all the time," James
Campbell said

hhmmmm...some past tense quotes from bf's dad.....

Not so sure that is suspicious.

The first bit can only be in past tense as it happened 9 months ago.

And, if she was his first girlfriend, again it has to be said that way. I say the same about my son's girlfriend. She is alive and well, and still with him, but I still say "she was C's first serious girlfriend". And maybe she used to come along on rides when they first got together, but not so much lately.

The last bit "He wants his girlfriend home" is present tense.

I'm seeing alerts that people are being named as suspects on this thread that are not named suspects by law enforcement. I'm sure that can't be true, but in case they are right, please go back and edit your post.

While I understand people sleuthing those surrounding Abigail, I find it problematic that anyone is labeling a person as creepy or pointing a finger. There are no named suspects by LE. Sleuthing does not mean finger-pointing. Many people of the North Country look and act different than many in a populated area. There are many "back-woods" people, but that does not make them bad people.
I'm considering what low odds it is for a human skull to be found during the grid search of where Abigail's phone last pinged. This needs to be considered because the odds of a human skull turning up that does not belong to the missing person, and found during a missing persons search are too odd to be ignored. This could point to a highly organized criminal who would likely be a stranger to their victim. Or it could be a very bizarre coincidence. I sure would like to know who that call was placed to from Abigail's phone. Maybe the reason other agencies got involved so quickly was because the call from her phone was made to emergency services (911).
NH is known for keeping everything close to the vest. They also would not have outside help unless they felt they needed it for forensics and abduction/ profiling expertise.

I think I am 95 percent backwoods, BUT... Wear only llbeanie clothes from the outlet. -g
The reason they turned up a skull was because they were doing a grid search shoulder to shoulder. I have been wondering if they were raking as they went along.

The woods here are so dense, deep, untraveled except for hiking trails, hunters. Atv's, snowmobiles even stay on their own trail/ paths. There are a gazillion places that may never see a human walking over, around or nearby. Sad to say , but she may never be found.
Snow comes soon, will not melt til spring.

I think the dogs probably helped to find the 2 sets of remains. Someone posted the link to the search dog team's website earlier today, I found a page that had their calender and experience by date/project and noticed they were called out on 10/10-so I am thinking they were called or there then. I could be wrong. The page also describes how the dogs work, so it is an interesting read.

Will go look for the link and thanks to the original poster.

The initial timeline lost me a little bit. One witness reports seeing her walking home from the High School on Eagles Way and then seeing her turn right onto a dirt path and walking into the woods. But the earliest reports from LE indicated the tracking dog(s) followed her scent from the High School all the way to her home ? Did LE track her onto the dirt path and through the wooded terrain to her home ? Was the eyewitness wrong ?

Along that same line of thought, we are seeing reports today of SAR dog teams re-canvasing the High School and the Middle School yesterday and last night. If she walked home, as indicated by the initial tracking dog(s), then why go back over the area surrounding the school ?

When Abby first went missing I had great hope that she could be returned home alive.

I am so terribly sad that I no longer feel this way.

If nothing else, I hope that her case can be solved quickly-- I have heard many parents of missing children say that the worst part is the not knowing.

I have unfortunately not been able to read every single post on Abby's thread, but I have tried to keep up as much as possible. I have a question.

I know that Abby's father has been spoken to and has been cooperative. I know that one poster here was also able to find out the man's name. My question is, why is his identity being kept out of the media and LE's mouths? Even if he does not live with Abby, I don't see what could be negative about your name being associated with your missing child? Do Abby and her father simply have no relationship or knowledge of each other whatsoever and that is why?

I am not trying to sleuth the man in any way, I was just curious as I personally have never seen a parent's identity purposely omitted from the press in a missing child's case.

TIA!

Maybe because kids went back to school today, they were out since Friday. Between Thursday and Friday search would have been fresh. 900 plus kids back at high school today. Just guessing....
