I have unfortunately not been able to read every single post on Abby's thread, but I have tried to keep up as much as possible. I have a question.

I know that Abby's father has been spoken to and has been cooperative. I know that one poster here was also able to find out the man's name. My question is, why is his identity being kept out of the media and LE's mouths? Even if he does not live with Abby, I don't see what could be negative about your name being associated with your missing child? Do Abby and her father simply have no relationship or knowledge of each other whatsoever and that is why?

I am not trying to sleuth the man in any way, I was just curious as I personally have never seen a parent's identity purposely omitted from the press in a missing child's case.

TIA!

I think it could honestly be something as simple as this. If he's never been in the equation, perhaps that's why he isn't being mentioned now.

sometimes they don't because they're protecting the family's privacy, especially if they have no reason to believe the person is of any interest in the case. They haven't named her grandparents, aunts, uncles or cousins either. That's my best guess. Just like the Mom not speaking early on, she may be really shy, have been too emotional, etc. Everything seems to point to them just being a very private family.

All of this woods, ponds, parks, searching is not good.

Totally impossible task.
I have been hard on LE, and FBI, wish we could hear anything from local Conway LE. I think it has been taken out of their hands, it is not like FBI may have done much Forest searching lately, who is the guy that jumped out of an airplane over Colorado, did they find him or the money? (DB Cooper)

So am sorry for my LE thoughts, but....there it is! Let the local LE talk!

At this point, it looks like local and state LE, along with FBI and other Federal Agencies are doing an outstanding and thorough job on this case.

I share your frustration with the lack of new information, but I am sure the FBI has a protocol to follow with respect to keeping details of the investigation confidential for now.

Unfortunately, it appears to me they do not have a lot to go on, given the dispersed pattern of their ground/water searches so far.

Good point about the insurance. But it may not be a factor here because the boy could be older or because of the nature of the father's hauling business. Perhaps it is just his truck that is covered while he is using it for work. Maybe his father IS the business--just him and a truck.

The boy may say he "works" there on social media but that doesn't make it true. Or he may help his father occasionally or work there off the books. That probably happens a lot with something like a hauling business operated from a residence.

There are probably different laws of that apply to a family run business. In NJ you can work for family at 13 with restrictions on hours. You can't work for other businesses until you are 16.

Okay, I am only on page 15, so no idea, if someone was able to create a map yet. Plumeria messaged me this weekend requesting my help, but unfortunately, I am rarely on a computer on the weekend anymore.

Here's what I have so far (no idea if this will work, as I am trying Bing Maps for the 1st time, as the map of this area is much clearer on Bing than Google)...

Great map!! Thank you!!

CONWAY, N.H., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- The New Hampshire medical examiner's office says it is attempting to determine the identity of a skull discovered during a search for a missing teenage girl. The partial skull and teeth were found Saturday in the White Mountain National Forest near North Conway, the New Hampshire Union Leader in Manchester reported Monday.

DNA testing is being conducted on the remains. The condition of the remains could help determine when the person died, said State Police Capt. David G. Parenteau.

Parenteau said a Massachusetts family called Monday to provide information on a missing relative last seen in Portland, Maine.
Authorities hope to determine if the remains are those of a man reported missing seven years ago.

The discovery is believed to be unrelated to the disappearance of 15-year-old Abigail Hernandez of Conway, who was last seen Oct. 9 walking home from school.

Oh that's not what I was referring to. Someone said that maybe she worked at the resort down there and that was my response. Nothing to do with the BFs dads job. Should have been more clear!

Same here in CA. The biggest draw for having family work for you here is that there is no workers comp insurance which equals big savings for small business.
