I personally do not think she was kidnapped ...

But suppose you're wrong? Who among us wants to inflict further harm (through our words) on a child who's already suffered at the hands of a cruel perpetrator?

On WS we take a victim friendly stance which hands the benefit of the doubt to the victim.

Paul, my sister is never coming home. We got a small box of remains after 17 years of not knowing what happened. If I were in Zenya's kitchen I would tell her to hug Abby and enjoy it. I will never laugh with my sister again, stay up all night giggling with my sister or fight and argue with my sister. I miss her. I miss her every day and what I miss most is that feeling that we were all safe. Abby is home, she's safe and she's already lost 9 months of her time, don't lose another second worrying what anyone thinks. This isn't about anyone else, this is about Abby. She's home, rejoice, laugh, dance and enjoy it fully. Sing songs, pull out the Christmas decorations and bake some cookies and redo the holidays. Go on that vacation you always thought you'd do together. Eat banana splits for supper and shout your joy from the mountain tops. Please, for all us who can't and won't ever smile and hug our lost loved ones, hug Abby and smile. Please, for all of us who need to see and know a happy ending. This is a happy ending and don't you dare let anyone cheat you out of it.
ETA I don't mean this as a slam to anyone. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and I respect those.

[h=1]Questions linger after missing teen returns home[/h]investigators are left with questions about how and why Abby vanished after leaving her high school in Conway on Oct. 9 and who may have helped conceal her for so long. Law enforcement officers have repeatedly asked for the public's help but have revealed very little.

Thank you for that Mom24. :loveyou:

We should all be thinking about Abby right now and everything else is just noise.

True, the sketch is not highly "modeled" and/or shaded to render lifelike contours, but as someone who has been drawing her entire life, it does capture some very strong differentiating features to compare for likeness:

Facial shape: square (not oval, heart-shaped, elongated, etc.)
Hair: Close cropped, slightly less volume on top
Eyes: Small, dark, deep-set, hooded (Brown)
Cheeks: High, flat (no dark circles or under eye sag)
Eyebrows: Not prominent, not overly hairy, slight arch
Ears: both very distinctive and protruding. Left - rounded and smooth, Right - somewhat uniquely pointed (Think Stephen Colbert...)
Bridge: Slightly drooped or protruding
Nose: Wide, thin nostrils, very round, bulbous tip
Lips: Deep clef between nose and upper lip, thin lips
Chin/Jaw: Small, wide, relatively flat (no deep shadow rendered under lower lip), skin fold suggesting "double-chin" or slightly overweight
Facial Hair: Heavy stubble, thick, dark

Granted, composite sketches certainly vary greatly both in terms of artist accuracy/ability, as well as the person's memory/description, but I suspect there was some discussion and agreement on all the above selections chosen for this composite.

I am not choosing to debate the truthfulness one way or the other, just pointing out some key features for those that are looking at images and making comparisons.

And u said Suppose Im wrong? We don't know whats right or what wrong
And according to LE they are NOT getting a lot of info from her.

Something Happened and IMO I think she left of her own accord and returned the same way. Am I right Am I wrong who knows They are just my thought on this case. Its been strange since day one.

And who said she suffered at the hands of a perp?

Id rather Have her with someone that took her in and cared for her than the alternative.

I think it is fair to discuss what sort of victim Abby is. Was she the victim of an abduction? A manipulation or coercion that led to taking her somewhere? Was it something else entirely? Heck, did she have her own resources that no one is aware of?

I do not think any of the clues so far point to her being the victim of an abduction, and, in fact, neither of her parents, who got a letter from her, ever seemed to indicate that they thought so. They kept begging her to come home, not asking whoever had her to release her. Maybe they were both wrong, but every piece of information we have so far does not point to an abduction or forced kidnapping. Now I 100% believe that a 14 year-old kid can be the victim or coercion, manipulation, or some other plot that she was forced to take part it, but in this case, I do not at all believe that Abby was the victim of an abduction or forced kidnapping.

For almost 40 years I've felt unsafe. Always on high alert, looking over my shoulder and never relaxed. When I saw the news that Abby was home I slept like I haven't slept in 40 years. I felt safe and relaxed and realized for almost 40 years I've been holding my breath. I exhaled. Having this child make it safely home isn't just something to be celebrated it's something to be relished and enjoyed. When I say I'm happy dancing, I am really happy dancing. I realized I need happy endings and happy stories. I need to know that the good guys really do win. We all do. The tragedy in all of this would be if Abby and Zenya didn't feel and experience those same feelings. They deserve it and they've more than earned it. Relax, laugh, cry but most of enjoy this moment when everything worked out.

And as much as I mocked it earlier for being a picture of Wooly Willy, it is light years better than the Mr Potatohead looking Identi-kit "sketches" of old.

I'll say that when they catch the adult responsible for this. Until then, there is a bad guy out there, and he is winning.

And if my statement makes you think "well, his claiming there are no clues here means there must be clues here", yeah, I can't win that argument.

Love it, PK...a lesson learned many times over by many.

I love this quote from Jane Young. Classic statement analysis red flag.

If I had a choice between having my sister home or catching the bad guy? I'd be calling it a win to have my sister home. The real point was to have Abby home safe, that was the win for me. I get your point and the responsible person or people can rot but right now Abby won. She made it home.

So far, we know that LE has spoken with AH about what happened to her. We know that she spent 3 1/2 hours helping make the sketch. We have no idea how much additional time AH has spent with LE and we don't know what she has told them. What we do know is that we have a 15 year old girl who was away from her family for months on end. We know that LE is highly interested in the case and has been since the very beginning. We have previously speculated as to why LE was so interested in this case (FBI in right away, lots of media attention, etc.).

Nothing LE has done in this case is something that you see happen in a forgive me, "traditional", runaway case. Perhaps Los will chime in here. He certainly knows all about how the many, many hundreds of missing kids cases LE sees every year. Whatever that something is that has had LE on high alert since the beginning of this case should be considered. I don't know how many of the people posting in this thread right now are aware of the humongous numbers of missing teens seen in this country each year. Rarely do these disappearances have the same kind of LE attention that AH's case has had. There is a reason for that and please think about that.

FGS, give this girl some time, give her a chance to be with her family. Let LE do their job. Just because the amount of information available to the public isn't enough for some people, the very fact that so many levels of LE on a state AND federal level should give one pause.

I have a question, why is the idea of Abby running away met with such stonewalling, and has from the beginning. IMO, the signs of a runaway have been present, and yet, vehemently denied that it could be possible from several. Why is that? Wouldn't leaving on your own favor more in a good ending? Wouldn't leaving on your own at least leave hope the person would return? If a strange, random perp grabbed a young girl, the chances of seeing her alive again are almost nil. So why was some opposed to the idea she could have left voluntarily, and still are opposed to that being an option? I never have understood that, so hopefully some can help me.

Yes I realize the dangers of runaways. Very much so, especially after following so many cases here for years. I realize sex trafficking is real, and girls are quickly picked up in runaway situations. But even that aspect was met with such strong opposition that I quit posting here for awhile. Some strongly believed that a stranger abduction was the only viable option, and belittled anyone that thought differently. I still can't understand why someone would rather think that, than a voluntary disappearance for whatever reason.

I wish LE would get a better sketch tho. It's really bugging me. I can draw quite well. I will volunteer to do it.

Google image search Lois Gibson. Now if only they could get her help, she is amazing!

I am one of the people who honestly didn't think AH was coming home. I was convinced that someone hurt her and that she was gone. What gave me this conviction was the amount and the breadth of LE involved in her case. I haven't seen a case where LE was so involved and so abundant where there was a possibility of a runaway situation.

So everyone who doesn't want to hear how absolutely thrilled I am that she is home with every comment I make will have to excuse me. I thought the world lost this young lady and I am completely overjoyed that she is with her family tonight.
