Hypothetically wondering, it is a crime for a minor to voluntarily disappear?
I am not sure but I do not think so. Most laws I have seen regarding missing minors are there to protect the minor. In these cases, the law cannot be used against the class of people it was meant to protect. For example, a man transports a woman across state lines for the purposes of prostitution; even if the woman agreed to go with him, he will be charged with a violation of the Mann Act, not her, as she is the class of people the law intended to protect.
