ooh. ok. can you explain about needing approval? my daughter said she has "find my iPhone" on her iPhone 5 and when she used the iPhone and opened the app and typed in her Apple ID and password the app found our ipad, but not the iPhone she was using.

Find my iphone and find my friends are different but they are from Apple
You should have your own icloud username for each device.
Download Find my friends to both device with it's own respective icloud account
invite friends or your daughter by putting her icloud accountt here and the request will be sent to her , and she'll need to approve then both of you can be seeing each other already

If she was using the iPhone it would not find it because she is using it!!

The following is all MOO and it's burning a whole in my brain...so here it goes...
I believe she was abducted by someone she knew. I believe she was walking and merrily texting back and forth with her "friend/classmate", lovey dovey and all. I believe she was approached via car and asked if she either wanted a ride home or up to her friend's home. Somewhere along the road, and I think sooner rather than later, she was overcome and her phone was taken then shut off. If it was someone she knew well, I am fearful of the outcome. If it was someone she knew either through family or friends, I believe she may be alive still (which may be a fate worse than death).

There are other viable options for her disappearance, I realize. But, for me, this seems the most logical based on what LE has offered up. There's been no indication that AH was into partying or drugs, so skipping off to do something illicit doesn't seem viable. And, through SM, there is absolutely no public info about AH being bullied, so a team of wild girls hurting her seems far fetched. Because the father's role in this case is being mysteriously blocked, I could possibly entertain some weird theory where there was a revenge plot against him.

But, when I think about what sort of scenario makes the most sense, I come back to my original theory, as stated above. IMO, AH was abducted by someone she knew and she needs a miracle to occur to come home.

Again, this is all my own opinion.

That's incorrect. It found my iPad while I was using it, and my MacBook that my husband was using.

We have three iPads and the new iPhone 5c find my iPhone will find my iPads while using them but when I use my iPhone it will only find my iPads and we have same I'ds and passwords on all four I think it is a new feature on the new I phone 5c and 5s
Ok so if you are using an iPhone 5c to locate the same phone it will not find it it found my three iPads that were in use by the kids. If that makes since

Ah I see, my dh is about to get the 5s so that is good to know! I have the same phone as Abby and it seemed to work for that, so I'm going to hold out hope that it could work for law enforcement... If she's still got access to the phone, goodness there's a lot to hope for.

Do we know if the father is in Abigail's life?
If not, the mother may not have wanted him mentioned or involved. It may not mean there is a "secret" about him.
We actually do not know she has been abducted either. Just that she is missing and has been gone for a week.

JMO

I saw some stuff online that the dad isn't around. Not much other than that.

It seems the mother called police pretty quickly upon arriving home from work.Like something was very apparent..Also,LE became involved rather quickly..Is it possible a ransom note was left in the house?

I'm sure she has the 'find my phone' feature turned on as well. Can't LE get into her iCloud acct and find the phone that way? Apple does have a wonderful security feature, so if anyone found her phone, it would be useless to them without her pass code. More likely that iPhone would be turned into lost and found than any other smart phone jmo

I thought the same so I asked my husband about Find My Phone. It's an app that is downloaded to the phone then it's synced with iCloud.

I am not saying that it won't work for the new iPhones I'm saying that if you are trying to find a phone and you are using that same phone it will not find it because it knows you have it and are logged in its like it knows its not lost I'm sorry this is so confusing lol sorry if I confused you!!!

Why is it these fancy new phones are of so little use in these cases...very frustrating. Everyone makes sure their kids carry them for safety...:(

Phones must be used with care and "location" should only be enabled not to all apps
On Twitter, you can also get Tweets of the people nearby
If any Sexual offender is good at Twitter, they can go to a place and find all the online nearby users
They can follow them, get their attention , pretend they are young hot kids in school, Direct message them and say " I am hungry let's go to Carls jr am paying" ...there you go, next thing you know they are gone...

It's called Nearby Tweets , google it :)

Would love to know if she was in the middle of a text conversation and it ended abruptly or if she said anything to the person she was texting about someone following her or maybe seeing somebody.

So she was travelling at some point on n/s road and her last phone connection was west of cranmore mountain. Kind of begs the question as to whether or not she was picked up by someone she knew and where would she have been going? Are there any locals on here that know of a place teens go up there to have a joint or drink in that area? Could she have been planning to meet bf there? Was she meeting someone else there? Two days before her birthday, had someone told her they had a gift for her?

Does she KNOW someone who lives west of Cranmore Mtn? Does anyone have a map that would list some of the named streets from previous posts and where they are by Cranmore.... if that makes sense. Trying to stick to the rules here. :banghead:

Could the phone be on mute(accidently)&still be able to be pinged?Maybe they know the general location but cant pin it down because of the density of stores in the outlet mall.
Maybe her last call or text was to her house saying a weird person was near her.Hence her mothers immediate alarm upon checking messages.

Can we be mindful of the margins?

A good way to do that is to list your pictures *under* each other
on separate lines instead of next to each other.

Authorities said she was texting on her phone between 2:23 p.m. and 2:53 p.m., and that she was texting with a friend, who they said has been cooperating in the investigation.

According to James D. Campbell of Conway, his son, JC, 14, is Hernandez's boyfriend. JC's father said his son last received a text from Hernandez — a heart — in that time frame.
Authorities said the final contact between her cell phone and cell phone network towers on the west side of Cranmore Mountain was at 3:07 p.m.

Young would not say what kind of contact was made with the cell tower, and said information about the last cell phone contact came from information gathered by police.
