Maybe LE is thinking recovery at this point, who knows. They might want to get who did it along with a recovery. So, they lay in wait. I don't know, I am not a cop.

Actually I think they think she is a runaway and with the budget cuts..they are waiting for her to waltz in the door one day.

If they don't find them in the first week they are left to simmer on the back burner.

Too much crime and too little manpower. It's a jungle out there.

Keep your loved ones close and protect them as best you can. Nobody wants to get into 'the system'!

And...how is that protecting Abby up till this point?? I beg to say, it hasn't.

They 'protected' Dylan Redwine the very same way and look at what happened to him. They still haven't released the video of him with MR in Walmart.

In fact I don't think even his mother ER has been able to see it!

Runaway or recovery. Either way, the urgency is gone from the atmosphere.

Well honeybun, perhaps its time the good people of North Conway started singing that damn anthem and sing it very loudly!

I am not so sure about that information. Trucks come and go all the time and employees hang around the back of Walmart.

I think there might be video in the back of Walmart. Perhaps one of our locals could do a quick drive by and check it out.

Remember back a bit it was said there was video of Abby. Never shown but there was video.

I think it might have been the last time LE made any statements about Abby.

MOO

Please provide a link. Otherwise, this statement is rumor.

ETA: Okay, haste took over and I posted without reading all of the posts. I now see the link you provided but it doesn't mention anything we don't already know about the surveillance video from the HS (where the screen shot was taken from). It's supposition that other videos exist and should be stated as such in your posts, IMO. The truth is getting muddled with all of the rumors flying around, IMO.

Maybe they need to be calling for someones job up there while they are at it.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. I'm just saying that if any of us asked the LE in this case why they wouldn't release a video, that's exactly what they would say.... to protect potential evidence and the integrity of the investigation.

I'm hoping they do have video, maybe of her getting in a vehicle and maybe they even know who the driver is.... if they know that much, then they wouldn't need to release it while they are watching/investigating someone. That would only botch their case.... now if they had video of a vehicle and they needed assistance from the public to ID the driver, then I could see them releasing it. Sadly, at this point we don't know what they have, other than a missing person.

I agree.

Before budget cuts, government agencies were understaffed, overworked, and underpaid.

I hope the family is looking into hiring a PI. That's what I'd be raising money for.

Well honeybun, perhaps its time the good people of North Conway started singing that damn anthem and sing it very loudly!

Honestly if they have video of a missing kid why not show it immediately. They talk about people visiting and going home and memories fading.

Show the darn video. Perhaps somebody would remember something.

Show it the next day on the 5 o clock news. Show it while they are using all those agents to stop cars on the road Abby might have walked.

Get one of those moving billboards and show the video.

Get it out there immediately. Geeeez that is frustrating!

Their plan. Secure the video for the integrity of the case of the girl that is still missing 8 weeks now!

How's that working out for you?

I don't think the letters written by Abby's parents are crafted, with the influence of LE, to speak to her potential captor. It would be irresponsible to tell the public there's no threat to the community on one hand, while on the other, directing the parents to write in such a way to humanize her to a predator.

Also, most perps are Narcissists, at the very least. The best way to negotiate with them is by speaking to them directly, acknowledging their power and control. I did a quick search on this topic and found an excerpt from a book, Kidnapping: An Investigator's Guide to Profiling By Diana M. Concannon. The fourth paragraph, beginning with Stockholm Syndrome explains this tactic.

All of this to say, LE's message, "No threat to community" and Abby's parents letters have me leaning back towards the runaway theory. If they don't have a decent amount of evidence pointing in that direction, I don't understand why LE hasn't taken a more aggressive approach in this investigation.

What if they think its a relative?

I said it was MOO in the post and I provided a link and the message in my next posting.

LOOK DOWN!

It's all there.

Yup. I saw it after I posted and added an ETA to my original post. It doesn't really change how I feel about your post, though. Just my opinion.

ETA: I actually missed your little MOO at the end until right now. My apologies.

What if they think its a relative?

Good question.

I don't know. I'd guess...Surveillance...questioning (much trickier if person is already lawyered up for previous domestic issues), etc.

and the bad people and the in-between. If they value their life that is, and their family members on down.

(Only my opinion and questionable conjecture)

I guess its a good thing we don't have microphones here. Yikes!

Actually you bring up something I have thought about. Those two girls that were the eyewitnesses walking behind Abby and knew who she was from school. How come they didn't walk with Abby. How come they were kind of following her? They are the ones on tv that said she turned right onto some road. I wonder about everybody right about now!

BBM

In my opinion, they were "kind of following her" because there is only one main road out of Kennet High School. I would think many of the walkers were kind of following each other at various times once leaving the campus. Sure, there are various paths the kids can take, as Abby did, but everyone is starting from the same point.

IMO

There were sightings of Abby on North /South road. North ?South Road is not congested with walkers. I would think if someone saw anyone walking, they would notice it for that reason. Could someone explain "unconfirmed " sighting to me?

Is it break time here and no one told me?
