Texting: can't find the source, but wasn't it said that JC watched her walk away from the bus texting? Makes me think it wasn't to him if he was watching her. Wouldn't he be looking down if it were him?

Was it ever said why she didn't get the bus that day? Surely bf or a friend said 'why are you skipping the bus' and she gave some kind of reply!!!!

Oh no. :( I had to look up the location. It's an hour and 47 minutes away, and very close to the NH shore. I have a feeling this isn't going to be foul play, based on what's been said throughout Lizzy's case about the cliffs and water in that area and how ideal they are for "making someone disappear."

That's Lizzi Marriott.

No reason for her not taking the bus has ever been given....

Dunkin Donuts has its HQ or main offices in New England...they are everywhere. The receipt, IMO, is meaningless.

This is getting so heartbreakingly frustrating. I check back and pray for Abby every day. It's getting harder to remain optimistic that the reason for the radio silence is investigation integrity—ie, they're moving in on what happened and will make one big announcement about it soon.

I'm nowhere WS veteran status as some of you, but I can't think of any case that offered so little to go on for so long. Even with the notoriously cold cases like Holly B. and Lauren S. there were known players and likely scenarios from the get go. Can you think of any?

If the phone was destroyed within that hypothesized timeframe, and LE haven't been able to find it in a calculated radius (Pudding Pond, etc), would that mean Abby or the perp held on to it after that point, barring expert level concealment? Is the consensus here that simply powering off the phone wouldn't have been enough?

Abigail was alone when she vanished...whereas Lauren had been out on a wild night with many others. Holly was seen leaving with a man by her brother. So there was more to know or hear about in those cases.

There have not been that many teenage girls who vanished without witnesses or hints of an internet meet-up to compare this case to. Ali Lowitzer is one, and there has been very little about her case in the news or even in gossip land.

The only part I find unusual in this case as far as circumstances of family, etc. is the seeming choice of her father to retain his privacy, or however it was once worded. No matter his feelings at the beginning, one would think her being gone this long should trump any desire to (perhaps) keep his new family (?) protected from the internet, for example, or whatever his reasoning may have been to lay low. Otherwise, I just don't think there is much to say. Clearly LE has found no trace of a person Abigail intended to meet. She just disappeared...most likely by vehicle. I have to think it was unplanned on her part, due to no phone or computer records telling LE who she went with.

In that case, it could be Billy McIntire. He was a fisherman out on a boat, he went for a swim with a friend and never made it back to the boat. It happened in late August of this year. His body was never recovered.

I had forgotten about him.... maybe you are right.... I wonder though, if it was him where he went missing near perkins cove in ogunquit maine, could he float to sagamore creek????

It very well could be meaningless but there is a DD right there on North/South Road.

LE said early on they found the owner of the receipt, I believe.

Not that I read. Mom thought she was on the bus, which makes it even more odd. At the time I had wondered if she had had to stay after school for something or had missed the bus, but the school groundsworker noted she had passed by him at 2:30pm, so it sounds like she purposely chose not to get on the bus that day. I was trying to find the name of the groundsworker, because they interviewed him at one time on the news. Anyone find that?

I don't know, I'm not sure how the tides work in that area. If the body is decomposed enough to not be able to identify male or female, it would have to be in the water for more than a few days. I don't think there have been any missing persons cases in that area lately, have there?

Not that I am aware of, just him.... lizzi its been so long that I wouldn't think it could be her either,

Yeah I know, it was a lady visiting her husband in hospital and stopping at DD daily for coffee. Just thought the reaction from LE, roadblock to track the vehicle down etc was odd, well not odd but a strong reaction to a receipt MOO

I had a vague memory of a college student that they thought was suicidal. But I googled it and unfortunately his remains found a while back. For some reason I thought maybe he was still missing too but wasn't sure enough to post it.

Honestly, I do not find this case to be more secretive or with less info known than most cases I have followed, and that includes probably hundreds. If there is nothing much to be known, there won't be much coming out, IMO. Most fifteen-year olds don't have much of a past, or have scandals, etc. to be hidden. There is just not much to say. She vanished, no one saw anything. Not unusual, as she either made sure of that, or someone else did.

This case is one of the strangest ones I have ever followed. Well then again..maybe not.

But as far as anybody looking for Abby I donno? Who is looking for Abby?

When Micki went missing her father and sister could not say enough. Even crazy Billie Dunn was on tv every night. Ron and Misty had their darn wedding during the search for Hailey. Lots of locals chatting about Holly B and Lauren S. Dylan had his mothers friends posting and parading with signs.

The quiet one was Jessica Ridgeway's family but I think that moved pretty quickly. I always felt sorry for Jessica's mother...there was a sadness there.

But with Abby;
There are no searches.
There are no pleas for bringing Abby home
There are no parents in front of the cameras
The day still remains a mystery

As much as Big Jim has been ridiculed he seems to be the only one that gives a dam about Abby.

He and I are frustrated. It is so quiet I am of the opinion expressed up thread that everybody knows where Abby is so they don't have to search and look and plead.

They just wait til it all dies down!

We don't know if her family has tried to get media and failed. Media is not interested in airing pleas and cries from families, unless they also contain news. And seemingly, there is nothing new to attract media interest.

In Mickey's case, news of a white truck came out quickly, and it was pretty certain she was abducted. And in Hailey's case, there was the excitement about her mom's boyfriend and their weird private life to attract media, so she had a forum whenever she wanted it. Not all families can gather the media at will.
