I say, if the Bikers Against Abused Kids is on this, they may not need media!!! :D

the school groundsworker noted she had passed by him at 2:30pm, so it sounds like she purposely chose not to get on the bus that day. I was trying to find the name of the groundsworker, because they interviewed him at one time on the news. Anyone find that?

Am I the only one that found that odd? It has stuck out to me more than anything since day one. I spent 4 years in HS and I had no idea of the name of the groundskeeper and he sure as hell would not have recognize me. Because I was one of hundreds of kids....has anyone looked into that guy?

I agree Clu. I have seen many cases where it dies down like this and we sit here on the thread thinking nothing is being done. True, I doubt they have 100 guys working the case anymore but they know way more than we do. Unfortunatelyfor us, they don't think it's our business.

Also, nobody is going to use their airtime to have mom cry and beg Abby to come home unless they find a blood trail or a bunch of hair fished out of a stream or something else sensational. She already has had much more press than 99% of runaways out there if she fits in that category. After awhile, it's depressing to report that she's still missing so they just stop unless it is sensational.

If you go into the older missing cases on this site, you will see hundreds upon hundreds of young girls who disappeared with no clues left behind and they have never been found. It's sad and heartbreaking that it can still happen today but it just can.

We don't know if her family has tried to get media and failed. Media is not interested in airing pleas and cries from families, unless they also contain news. And seemingly, there is nothing new to attract media interest.

In Mickey's case, news of a white truck came out quickly, and it was pretty certain she was abducted. And in Hailey's case, there was the excitement about her mom's boyfriend and their weird private life to attract media, so she had a forum whenever she wanted it. Not all families can gather the media at will.

Aw and in Mickeys case the father and sister were relentless. In Haileys case it was just a circus! Heck they even had Geraldo there!

I knew all of the janitorial staff at my high school. And I knew them before I got there. My cheer team practiced at the high school and my mom and I would talk to them often. Maybe she knew him from being at the school with her sister.

I did not know our janitorial staff or grounds staff in HS, but I attended a rather large HS. I think the size of the school and town would factor greatly into whether it is common to know that type of staff at your HS. JMO

Also I think it depends on the person. After reading that post I thought back and remember the truant officer. He was quite interesting in the car he drove to round up anybody that didn't wake up that morning! We all knew him. He was a huge guy that drove a tiny car and we all watched out the window to see if he would fit that day!

We knew the cooks...they were classmates mothers.

Our high school had about 400 total students. My granddaughter goes to a high school that has 1,000 in the Freshman class!

Normally, if the family is having trouble getting news coverage, will will hear about it because they will bring it up on social media. We haven't heard anything like that in this case, so it really feels like there isn't much effort to get MSM coverage for this case.

The media seems interested in this case. They published the letter Abby's mother wrote, they attended the most recent PC, and they write new articles every time there's some new "development" on social media. I think that Abby's family isn't very media-savvy, maybe they don't know how to go about getting media coverage on a daily basis, or maybe they think social media is more effective, but I think if they were truly pursuing the media, the case would be getting more attention, because the media definitely has an interest in it. In Abigail's case, there doesn't seem to be more urgency so I could see her parents not feeling it's necessary or not know how to go about pestering the media for coverage on a much more frequent basis.

The more coverage the more you stand the risk (likelihood) to end up with camera crews outside of your house, following your daughter around a college campus, digging into your personal life. It is not a place anybody would want to be nor willingly work towards. I'm sure Zenya is in constant contact with LE and feels they are doing what they can. I'm sure she and LE know more than we do, I'm sure LE knows more than she does.... which is expected! She is Abby's mom... mother knows best. Whatever she is doing, I'm positive it is what she believes in her gut is in the best interest of her daughter(s). If ever there is a gut to follow, mom is who I'd go with.

I don't think IMO that there is a lack of urgency in this case..... I think this case is being handled a certain way for safety reasons and I also think that anything LE is working on at the moment they aren't comfortable making public..... I think how its being handled is for all very good reason

Couldn't agree with you more!!!!!

I think this case is growing old and stale from lack of interest by everybody but us bloggers!

There might be one tired detective working this case and many other cases. An answering machine and a part time secretary.

That's about what's going on now folks!

From 100 boots on the ground to this. ;(

Umm, I can tell you that's not the case.... there isn't 100 fbi agents on the ground but there is a team of nhsp mcu detectives working this case every single day.... tips are still being reported and they are all being followed up on...

Actually, even maura murray's case, which is cold, with no leads still has 2 detectives that work that case, review it all the time, talk to people etc

If LE and the parents have good evidence indicating that she ran away, maybe they're purposely allowing media attention to die down in hopes that she'll feel more comfortable returning home. If not, I think there is a better approach. Soon, the media a will tire of publishing letters to runaway Abby, and the family will be hard pressed to convince anyone that she was abducted.

I saw that and felt sick realizing the article added that piece. Praying to something. I'm not a religious person and I'm praying anyway (to whom I do not know).

It's unlikely it's Lizzi. Lizzi wasn't fully clothed when she was put into a suitcase and submerged off Pierce Island. The female they found today is clothed. It's also worth noting that there is a mental health facility on one side of the creek.
