I'm trying to remember stories from around here and MA of females. Geraldine the hiker who has yet to be found (but went missing in the northern mountains), Abby, after that I'm at a loss other than Lizzi who was already mentioned. A LOT OF PEOPLE go through Portsmouth on a yearly basis so it is very possible it is somebody from away.

If this is Abby it would break my heart. In this particular missing girl case I have always had the hope that Abby did take off and was just gone.

The whole scene changes when they find remains of somebody's loved one.

If this is Elizabeth, she, at least, has been presumed dead for quite a while, hasn't she? So finding her would be a relief, I would think.

Why couldn't this be Lizzie Marriott... I just did quick reading up and she was supposedly put into the water off Pierce Island. It would make sense that she wash up in Sagamore Creek.

And yes, after a year and knowing she is dead, to find her would be a good thing for her loved ones.

It's unlikely it's Lizzi. Lizzi wasn't fully clothed when she was put into a suitcase and submerged off Pierce Island. The female they found today is clothed. It's also worth noting that there is a mental health facility on one side of the creek.

A year, salt water corroding suitcase, lots of coastal storms...

I went and checked at our scanners section but nothing going on there. What starts the scanners going?

FWIW, seacoastonline's twitter feed is stating they have a source saying it's not Lizzi. THIS IS RUMOR ONLY and does NOT mean it's Abby. It could very well be one of the missing girls from Massachusetts.

There are many from MA and quite honestly, 95 goes right through there... there are millions of vacationers going through year round. Truly could be from anywhere. That's my hopeful side speaking.

Somebody notices activity and starts noting it in our threads downstairs. If nothing's happening, nobody pays attention.

Honestly, if the body was found earlier, I doubt there would be scanner activity now. If you knew when (exactly) and where it was found, you could ask for a rewind in that area at that time and somebody would help out.

I hate thinking this, in a way, but so often when bodies are recovered, they belong to people we never even heard about their being missing. So many missing never make news at all.

But doesn't cold water preserve tissue? Would a body in cold water be so badly decomposed in 60 days? (Please don't be Abby!)

I have hope. Also since clothing was found and we know what Abby was wearing when she disappeared that would be a huge clue and nothing is being tweeted about that.

So I am anxious but hopeful.
