I wonder if Terry Rasmussen had anything to do with her. He was in NH during the 1970's, although I'm not sure when he moved there.

*If* she was a serial killer victim, I would lean towards Alcala. I still think she is possibly the young woman in the photo with sort of a maroon haze to it I have mentioned previously.

Really hope for answers for this one.

Yeah, Alcala had murdered a woman in New York in 1971 and was in New Hampshire/New York area around that time. I had initially thought she might have been a victim of Samuel Little, given he only used his hands, making homicide determinations difficult with decomposed victims. But Little never admitted to this murder, plus I think he was still operating in Florida during that time.

It is minutes to the Interstate from Georges Mills, where the arts camp Alcala worked at was located, and a straight shot down Interstate 89. Less than an hour south to Bedford, NH. I confirmed that Interstate 89 was built in the late 1960s.

I'm local, and even today the area around Georges Mills is VERY "small town" New England, so I can only imagine what he got away with while hiding out. Back then a creep could have quickly scooted into Canada, NYC all in same day without anyone noticing too.

Is there a "for Dummies" type of resource to better understand this? Thank you!!

Essentially the higher the number of the highest DNA Match, the better, so far her highest is 43.4 cM which unfortunately is a far-away relative, maybe a 3rd-4th cousin

Thank You doggybag .. I'm not that keen on interpreting results in what they mean greatly appreciate your input.

No problem, and usually an ID might happen around 200-300 cM, however they're also checking through FamilyTreeDNA, which is not listed on this spreadsheet, so who knows!

OT: For me, I know of a few third and fourth cousins, but wouldn't know many details, but I bet I could find out more info from some closer cousins.

They pretty much try to work backwards from that, which can be difficult. Investigators found a 2nd cousin of the El Dorado Jane Doe, a year ago, but the cousin couldn't recognize her. But they said they bore a resemblance to the family.

I think I recall reading that about EDJD. The family contacted still hasn't been able to figure out who she may belong to? If not a known cousin, maybe one given up for adoption or the result of a hook up?
But even when it comes to skeletons in the closets, someone might now. Like in the case of my gram, if a 70ish year old guy showed up claiming to be related, I'd believe it. My grandma had a baby out of wedlock she claimed died at 3 days of age. But if he wanted to know who is father was, we'd be at a loss, because those who know are gone.

DDP uploaded new extended admixture. If I understand it correctly, she is half Polish and half Norwegian.

If she was the victim of any known serial killers, that is...

The good news is that for the first time in 49 years, investigators are closer than they've ever been to identifying her.
