I incorrectly put Gerard instead of Gerald.
Here is a link to Gerald:
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/montrio_gerald.html

The problem seems that although we have no pic's of Rasmussen, there is an article that states he has dark eyes and Evans has blue eyes. I was just struck by how much Evans looks like one of the Rasmussen boys. Unlikely it's him if Rasmussen has dark eyes. Although the family believes Rasmussen ran away, he isn't listed in namus or any other missing website and there is no info or pics of him.

One of the names he used was Don Vannerson. I found 2, both in Texas. One is interesting as this man is Rodney Don Vannerson (he used Don). This guy was a fairly high profile guy, who made his money in Houston through a company called Aaron Bail Bonds. The company started in 1965.

I wonder if BE, under another name, used that company to post bond, and then fled? Of course that assumes he had some type of collateral.

Long shot....

I'm wondering if the Allenstown woman and children was someone running from an abusive spouse and she hooked up with Evans for a ride? Might be worth looking into parental abductions of children. They had to come from somewhere. Maybe Canada? Mexico? I know during the 70's they had groups helping mothers hide children from abusive men, wonder if he was a driver for them and used that position to gain access They usually give the people who work with them false ID, so he would have learned to how to change his identity by doing that. He had to be somewhere before he met Denise, and he have a biological child with someone.

I think we all need to remember that when we hear about the kinds of horrendous things someone has done, our first reaction is to think, "How could people who knew this person have no idea how evil they were?" But time and time again, we discover that people didn't know. Whether that's because the odd behavior didn't set off any red flags, or because people chose to ignore those red flags because it didn't fit into the narrative they wanted, we can't say. But it is often the case that serial killers are very good at hiding their true selves from the rest of the world. The woman who knew him in CA when he still had "Lisa" believed his stories about a wife he loved who had died/been murdered. I would like to believe that Denise had no clue how evil BE was. And since Websleuths is a victim-friendly site, and at this point we think Denise is a missing person who is also a victim of this monster, I will continue to believe that she had no clue. I am also thankful that her daughter survived and, in fact, has thrived in a life that includes a loving husband and children. As far as we know, she is the only victim who has been so fortunate. I wish her much peace and love. She deserves it.

Some of the most prolific serial killers were in happy marriages, and their wife never suspected a thing, and were as shocked as the rest of the world when their husband's got caught. The BTK killer, Green River Killer, and Gacy are some I can recall off the top of my head.

In the press conference, they said they were going to head back out to the crime scene and look around some more. Did they say when? Now is probably not a good time because of the season, but I figure if they don't, others might, like the curious and the looky-loos.

Thanks for helping me out. I was going to give those very examples but had to log out for my "real life" obligations of feeding my dogs making my dinner! LOL Another serial killer who has hit "close to home" for many of us on the East Coast is Israel Keyes. He killed people all over the country, including northern Vermont (where I live), but he had a normal life in Alaska with a young daughter and girlfriend who had no clue. Unfortunately, most killers do not have a tattoo on their forehead to warn their victims. :( :(

I think they said in the spring. You have a point, I hope curious people don't mess with any evidence they might find.

Interesting

hello there, been lurking on here ever since the press conference.I think we might be on to something with the missing kids robert and gerald. Robert, one of the missing, is from a danish background, which matches our killer's background. His date of birth would be 1944, which also would work for that our of killer. He also had a brother named Edward, whch is what he used as one of his middle name as an alias. Looks like his parents used to live in Boston and his dad was a seaman, so it would make sense that he would run away to join the navy. I did some digging and found robert's mother's obituary. He was one out of 5 and had at least a younger brother,so that doesn't match with what he claimed.

No problem! I just looked Keyes up, I'm so surprised I've never heard of him before! Haha, I understand "real life" obligations. Since this case has exploded, my "real life" got in the way of my researching.

Will you also please post these in Gerald's thread as well if you haven't already? Thanks again!

I see the similarities but to me the eyes are clearly a dark color. As a photographer I am thinking what color would look like converted into black and white. Blue or green would register as a lighter gradient of black. Plus complexion as his overall look don't seem to fit. But again, who knows. The nose and eye spacing work (I do think the nose feels quite accurate!) but ultimately to me face shape is off, as is chin. The personality based on this image feels off. He looks Eastern European to me. But what do I know!?

wow good work! I was pretty convinced that Robert could have ran away and became our BE, but after seeing his picture,, I am not so sure anymore

East Bay Times Article

Richmond: Sordid past of Bob Evans, drifter linked to six killings
PUBLISHED: January 27, 2017 at 3:35 pm | UPDATED: January 30, 2017 at 12:07 pm
http://www.eastbaytimes.com/2017/01/27/richmond-the-sordid-past-of-drifter-linked-to-six-killings/

In 1986, Evans wrote a brief autobiography that authorities later obtained. It said he was the youngest of six kids, born to Norwegian-American parents who abused him practically from birth, and refused to allow him to attend school. It said he ran away from home at age 14, joined the military, then moved to Canada, where he met Denise LaPorte. It said they married in Virginia, had a daughter, and that Denise died in 1983.

What alias did he have when he wrote the autobiography? Where was it found? Just a thought but is it possible he was writing a backstory to his current alias? I think most of his alias's are identity theft, but the wives could be 1) made up, 2) completely unaware their marriage wasn't official, and 3) could be just girlfriends and he just tells people they are married.

Like someone has said, within every lie there is a truth. I think he combined wives/girlfriends with this one. I think the woman he married and had a child with was "Elizabeth"/Doe #3's mom and the dying in 1983 was Denise. I think that's when she died or was killed, which goes with the assumption Evans wouldn't have wanted to raise an infant alone.
