I don't think I agree... to be diagnosed with Schizophrenia, one has to show dellusions/hallucinations for a period greater than 6 months...

Everyone can have a psycotic episode triggered by depression, stress and specially drugs. However, in Schizophrenia, the psycotic episodes are recurrent and not necessarily triggered by anything.

It is also a disease that starts when the individual is very young... They demonstrate a schizoid personality - those distant, introverted kids who have a very hard time forging emotional/social connections.

Not all shy kids are going to develop schizophrenia, however, it is very rare that a extrovert kid that is full of friends will develop the disease.

Like depression and other mental illnesses, there are varying levels of the disease. Some people are able to function very well and have mild attacks, while others are almost incapacitated.

I got the impression that CN2Souls was referring to the way the general public (laymen)
sometimes label & react to the mentally ill, their symptoms & what they think they may
know about schizophrenia & other disorders...

... not so much what the criteria for diagnosing or what professionals know about mental illness.

If the autopsy determines homicide and by some means it is determined that the perp. placed the body on the Vermont side of the river, then can the perp. be charged with interstate transport of a kidnap victim? How do states designate boundaries of waterways?

Actually, there is no way this question can be answered until many more pieces of the puzzle are in place. I'm just posting it because it ran through my mind and is for future reference.

It may turn out to be a non-issue.

With all respect...

Reading through this thread and seeing all the comments about the scary internet and facebook and the "sexy" pictures this girl posted of herself, I cannot help but picture a group of 1950's parents wringing their hands and talking about that new scary "Roll and Rock" music the younguns are listening to.

One thing you can pretty well take to the bank: this girl's death almost certainly had nothing to do with the internet. I can say this with such assurance for two reasons. First, in cases like this it is almost always, almost always, someone either in the family or a very close intimate friend. And second, despite all the media hysteria and horror stories, there are really very few maniacs lurking on the internet looking to slaughter kids. There are some, of course, but few. As for pedophiles, well, there are a lot of them out there, but most, the overwhelming majority, would no more hurt this girl then you would hurt your own love.

If this girl was murdered the first place to look is her home, followed by the people she knew intimately in real life.

You know, I am just not sure about this. While I agree the proper course of action is to start with the last person to see Celina and work out, I did notice a couple of new "friends" on Celina's facebook that seemed rather odd. One "friend" had a completely blank fb page. I think LE should and probably is, looking at that. I did not link this information to the threads because there was no way to tell if the fb's belonged to minors.

Just because there are unusual circumstances within the home doesn't mean the crime happened there. And paying close attention to Celina's facebook is also an important tool in this investigation.

So was it confirmed that the "Stepbrother" doesn't live with them? 3 out of 3 reports i just browsed don't mention him living with them. When referring to SB, are they meaning KM?

THANK YOU!!! I just did a search and came up with the description for the photo. You are correct. I will remove my posts to alleviate confusion.

It doesn't start in very young kids. Average age of onset is 18 in men and 25 in women. And as far as I understand, an individual can be very successful prior to developing symptoms. So I totally disagree that only distant introverted kids develop it.

you are 100% correct...my family member had and still has tons of friends and was the class clown. all of our doctors have told us that the symptoms don't start until they are older, no one would ever have known....

News 9's Amy Coveno reports Noyes is out of the hospital. She ran into him this morning outside a home on Route 253.
by Kevin Clay/Staff 10:04 AM

She said he went inside the home before they could speak to him. He waved from inside the home but declined to speak on camera.

Wait...what??? They are back inside the home already?? Am I understanding that correctly??

ETA: Disregard: They have updated since then:

@poor celina It was not his home. We do not know for sure whose home it is.

Amy Coveno reports there is some renewed activity down by the river. We don't know why.

This may be old information, but I heard last night that they were thinking the body had been placed in the river further up and that it had floated down to where they found it. They were supposedly searching up stream for evidence. Did anyone else hear this and if so is there further info. tia

No:

Is Rt 253 where Amy saw Mr Noyes in Vt side or NH?
by Tom 10:42 AM

@Tom That is on the Vt side

This also triggered my brain another tidbit from yesterday: LE said that this is a NH case. That indicates to me that they believe whatever happened and IF anyone else is involved, they live and it occurred in NH.

Thank you! I was just sitting here wondering if we would see any video of him waving from inside the house and wondering what look he would have on his face, if so and it hit me that he shouldn't be in the home at all.

ETA: I agree that they think it all happened on the NH side. Shame, since VT doesn't use the Durham Rule like NH does.

There's a pretty good older movie that stars Nancy McKeon called Strange Voices about one family's struggle with schizophrenia. I thought it was well done and educational.

oh...ok...so all it takes is someone willing to lie. To me, just moo, not the greatest lesson to teach a child. Just lie. Everyone else does?

ouch!

Could be wrong, but I think that was speculation. Equally speculative, at this juncture, I believe, is that the body could have been weighted down in that specific area.

We shall know in due time, I suppose.

Hi everyone, trying to catch up.

On one small note NH still has hanging on the books.
