"We're confident that as the investigation continues we'll have more definitive answers." They know more than they can say at this point in time.

Person or persons of interest? AAG: "We continue to look at all facets of this case."

  • #703
I knew this would happen. Telling us nothing

Ughhh -- wouldn't they be able to tell if this poor girl was sexually assaulted (I sure hope not).

Is it safe to assume she wasn't choked or suffocated? I would think that a coroner would be able to tell that.

Not sure...

Bless you Celina -- I hope answers are found soon.

-remind public to remain vigilant, but can't say heightened

I'm getting they know how she died but are sitting on it........ no comment on blunt force trauma or gunshot wounds

Per the observations of the body in and out of the water, that is what made it suspicious.

Added to her statement about the body being put in the water, it seems like this could only mean that the body was wrapped as was reported yesterday.

MOO

Waste. Huge Waste.

No info, no cause/manner of death known yet. Pending toxicology.

And AG is saying nothing.

I'm outta here.

I knew it. Krista Dittmeyer all over again.

Watch though... they will make an arrest before that toxicology time period is over.

You certainly pegged it!! But at least we have gone from no POI to I won't comment on a POI.

Why did everyone just race off to the right?

Why announce a 3:30 presser for results...then delay an hour and a half, and then say pending?

My hinky meter is going through the roof. I think they know but are keeping quiet in lieu of giving anything away to the perp. This is a good way to make that person feel safe.

Just a thought - not meant as fact.

What a waste of time.

Toxicology may take a couple of weeks or longer.

Maybe they are going to wait until they have the 🤬🤬🤬 in custody before telling all.

  • #713
Frankly she would have done better to have released a written statement saying the investigation is pending and there is no new info at this time.

This woman is excellent at handling the press lol. But so frustrating for us. Now I really need a special break, then these crazy boys need to go to bed.

:sigh:

What exactly do they think toxicology is going to show on an 11 year old?
Totally bizarre.

Possibly that she was drugged before she was placed in the water.

Argggggg, I do not want to wait for toxicology test!!!!!! I thought we were going to get a little more info than what Jane Young had for us. Especially since they prolonged the start. Oh well, time for bed, let's hope for more tomorrow. Goodnight all. Night pink.

What exactly does this mean? The acts of pedophiles by definition harm children, so I'm having trouble parsing your argument.

The subject in this discussion is murder, not any physical or mental trauma sexual contact between a child and adult would cause. The point I was making is as simple and factual as it is politically incorrect: the world and internet might be crawling with actual and potential pedophiles -- the media certainly does their best to make it seem that way -- but statistically only a very small percentage of pedophiles are violent maniacs who murder (or even violently rape) little kids. This percentage is, perhaps, no larger than the percentage of ordinary heterosexual men who rape, and both are arguably driven by the same violent insanity.

As I said, the odds are very good that Celina (assuming she was murdered) was killed by someone in her family or a close family friend. Statistically, knowing NOTHING else about the crime and lacking any evidence pointing elsewhere, that is the first place to look for answers.

Obviously this is a very touchy subject for many people, myself included. I am going to assume that everyone here at websleuths is here because they are as interested in FACTS (devoid of media sensationalism) as they are appalled by these types of crimes, and further, that they can handle the mature discussion of these crimes without the repetetive insertion of disclaimers.

I think they know, but it keeping it close to vest.....and must have an idea of who too. I was waiting for the answer to water in the lungs.....ME knows that....so....? I don't think there was.

It would be safe to say nothing at this point except that it wasn't an accident. They know what happened to her, or at least know what killed her. They just aren't sayin'
