I have to admit that the off-topic chatter on the threads about this poor girl, especially today, have really been a distraction for me. I didn't realize these threads went that far off-topic to include banter back-and-forth about completely unrelated things, and I've really been noticing that here today. The 'basement' posts weren't as off-topic as a lot of others, though.

BUT I must also admit that this is the first case I've followed here from the time the 'missing' report has been issued, so it's probably just that I'm newer to this forum (I lurked for ages in Unidentified and Cold Cases, not so much here). I just expected it to be more focused or analytical or something.

I think some of it is to insert sanity. Many get wrapped up in the cases of the missing...especially children...and it's just a way to exhale...in a sense. Certainly so right after they are found deceased. I'm not familiar with the other threads you've been involved with, but I doubt the emotions are running as high. Hopefully you can just skip the post when it's contents are unreferenceable to your line of thought. JMHO

I am sure this has been asked and answered, but why is the server so slow? Or is it me? tia
Not just you! Had the same problem all day

For the night crew...

We've had some server problems since we upgraded our server a few days ago. Admin is aware of the problem. It is being worked on. We hope to have things back to normal as soon as possible. :)

I won't bash the parents for going to this public celebration, but I sure couldn't have done it. Sometimes I think I have a serious problem, these cases bother me more than the families.

I'm quite sure it 'bothers' them much, much more.

And I feel for everyone in Celina's family and extended family for what they'll continue to go through while they're under such scrutiny right now. I can't imagine what it's like to be under a microscope like this, and having to decide what they should or shouldn't do every minute of the day. I would think that part of the reason for going to the festival is because they must be feeling really, really trapped right now.

I think the two pictures below will haunt me. The group pictures of the rescue team/LE and the two LE looking down the slanted concrete form of the damn/river. It appears the slanted concrete would be where the perp slid her into the water possibly. Just guessing and it's haunting and extremely specultive.

I'm curious to see whether they determine where her body was put in the water. At first I thought it would have been some distance away and that she just ended up there, but now I don't know.

No, I didn't mean posts that were unreferenceable to my line of thought (whatever that means? not sure), I meant casual banter back and forth that has nothing to do with this case. Weather chat and personal experiences and such. That's what I meant was a distraction, not case-related posts that I just happen to disagree with.

I assume by the line into the water a diver was already in the water?

I sure hope they scraped that for DNA.

I so hope CC gets justice. I can't take another child justice free.

Thanks, those grown men don't have their noses in the dirt for no good reason. These pictures along with this one are very disturbing.

I am sure LE has surveillance on anyone they think could be responsible for Celina's death. I just hope they are able to protect individuals from themselves. I worry that there could be a suicide that leaves the family with many unanswered questions. I imagine the mental hospital takes precautions to keep patients safe. But there are others who are free to come and go. By the way, Florida has a state law that allows an individual to be held involuntarily if the person is suffering from mental illness and could be dangerous. They use this when people are threatening suicide and so forth. Does New Hampshire have a similar law, and does anyone know whether SF voluntarily went into a hospital? It sees he checked into a hospital. It doesn't say whether he was required to do this.

OT- Odd you mention this, as there was a head on collision, police considered it a suicide attempt, as the driver at fault did commit suicide immediately after. It was in south NH the Tues evening after CC went missing if I recall...and the first thing I had thought was wonder if he had something to do with CC....

Not to defend or explain the "chicken dance" thing but I come from a long & well-tested family culture that embraces (and has adapted) the Irish wake concept. If that was a joyful part of Celina's too-brief life, good for them. Remember -- we get the media snippets & views. No one can ever know the pain endured behind closed doors, in the middle of the night or at first light when that God-awful spike thru the heart occurs....As a matter of fact, I have threatened my loved ones since I was a teen that my death WILL be a cause for celebration or I would be back to haunt everyone of them :)

Thanks Elepher, I posted that picture when the discussion of Celina being wrapped in a blanket or not before the news came out and that was the first one that became available. I think this perp was lazy in Celina's disposal. Very lazy. Maybe not the prep of disposal but the disposal in the water, lazy. How sad this all is.

I see again, I think Elepher? mentioning the Black Hawk being used to retrieve CC. The video shows men pulling the basket up and out with a rope. Can someone please reference in MSM, wherea it states that the Black Hawk was USED to retrieve???

eta- is it possible the Black Hawk was used to transport the body to the ME offices??

My hubby works out in it every day, he has lost alot of weight and didn't really need to. Last I heard the death toll was 15 due to heat, a couple of those were children in cars. We haven't been below 100 in quite a while. I would be glad to get to some cooler weather. New granddaughter will be here the 22nd, I guess if it gets too hot in the house we will go for a ride in the car.

We got up to 113 earlier this week in my part of Ok.

For what it's worth...

I don't think so, because that would have been a quick transport. And as is Jane Young's custom... while she was giving her press conference Celina's body was "being transported to Concord."

With Krista she also held the press conference about an hour after they pulled her out... while she was being transported to Concord... they used a hearse to transport Krista.

Whether a room is habitable is much more important than whether it is a basement or another type of room. Basements tend to be less habitable, on average, than other rooms in a home. They attract rodents and insects, can have water or sewage seeping into them and can be extremely dirty. But most finished basements do not have these problems. They are no different than the average room in a home. I'm not sure what the argument was about earlier. I assume there was a discussion of whether putting kids in a basement is neglectful. Without lots of details about the basement, it's impossible for anyone to draw a conclusion.

My last say on the cellar/basement then I'll wait for LE. I agree fully with what you have said, but the fact is the house was built in 1920...and with the maintenance of the outside long time neglected, I'm guessing the property owners were only throwing money into their immediate investments. The interior rentals. No nice and clean cinder blocks, but old masonry stones with less than 6' unfinished ceiling clearance at the most. :twocents:

As far as the house, I'd love to renovate one like Celina's. Hey this ole house?

There was a picture of a view that was speculated upon of the interior view of a landing of stairs, looking towards what was basement view. Anyone see that one? I did. Can't find it now.

i saw this as well. after doing a little googling and reading the comments section of some of the articles i don't think it is related (but it was an interesting twist to contemplate). For the mom's and immediate family's sake it would be some sort of comfort if it was not going to involve someone connected to the house but common sense tells me different. Kudos to the parents imo for going to that local fair tonight. I think this mom is devastated and somehow i think she is summoning up every ounce of coping skills to get through. I think she will be haunted for a long time by thoughts of "if only...."

For reference the rest of NH is: New Hampshire: $60,567

Someone mentioned earlier that the basement could be important for a few different reasons. They made some good points that I hadn't considered. Most important, I think, is that direct access to the outdoors means a person could enter the basement bedroom and never be noticed by anyone.

I believe I read that Celina's sister was at a friend's house that night. What about the other people living there? Would anyone else have been up and moving around after the SF claims to have seen her that evening? Do we know the last person to go to bed?

ahh Violet- you saw that too?? Yeah it gave me pause- tried looking the guy up...so not related then.....it was king of odd on the heels of her missing.........thanks
