My own 19 year old daughter and I went down to the piers last night and stood looking out over the water. It was sobering and this tragedy reminded me of how naive our children can be. We had a long talk over a large cup of coffee. I would say that all of us with children need to have serious conversations with our children. It's been difficult since this is a relatively small town and most of us know the families involved. And it's made my own daughters more cautious of the friends they have and they've learned what warning signs they should look for. They've also learned that monsters can be your friends and the boogeyman can be really normal and charming. I just hope that Lizzi is found, the family can have some peace and our community can sleep easy knowing those responsible won't be able to prey on anyone again.

Mom24, I hear you quite loudly. I think young adults these days are trusting, and they know so many people from social media. There is a feeling of "knowing" someone, even if you don't.... It has been very quiet considering that many know the families involved. I am surprised that there are not more people commenting on the others who may have been at the Dover apt that night. There must be many who know. And the gf? Is she still living at the apt? What does she have to say? So many questions.

Hope that Lizzi's family was able to find some peace this Thanksgiving.

It is true that young women need to become aware that people are not really who they say they are. The masters of deciet are practiced individuals who are able to slither around society--and they are very good at it.

Yes I hope she is found for the sake of her loved ones.

I'm not sleeping easy though. I'm not convinced that whoever is responsible for Lizzi's death will not walk the streets again--so sorry to say.

In addition to the unrest of monster is the lack of ability to corner and capture as well as collect evidence to properly prosecute them.

It is that I fear most. RIP Lzzi where ever you are.:banghead:

So very intersting that he entered no plea and waived rights.

Sounds like a person who doesnt have much to worry about.

Has anyone heard of a court date for trial yet?

Tic toc:what:

If you are referring to waiving the right to a probably cause hearing, unless NH is different, that is not that uncommon.

The tragic disappearance and murder in October of University of New Hampshire student and Westboro resident Elizabeth “Lizzi” Marriott rocked the community to its core. One mother, Alisa Stone, looked at this tragedy as an opportunity to help educate and empower girls coming home from college for winter break, as well as local high school girls and their mothers.

she says she won't comment if additional arrests are expected (I didn't get the first part)

I would really like to buy this lady (spokesperson) a complementary massage somewhere... she seems very highly strung

I just started reading this thread today...

But this was such a cute, funny post.... I just had to respond!

As I said in the last post... I just read this thread today...

I must say I am flabbergasted that the perp's GF/roomie is not being apprehended in some way...

I realize many, many details are being held by LE... As it should be ... But there seems to me that the GF should be brought out more considering:

she (supposedly) was the one who made plans with Lizzie...

And...

It is at the GF's residence that the evening's events seemed to have started..

And if not... Then she would have knowledge of why Lizzi's plans changed!

I just feel for Lizzi and those that love her... For having no closure on this tragedy!

JMO... And :banghead:

There was a second arrest today. Www.wmur.com it is on the front page. I'm on my phone so I can't get an actual link posted.

Wow!

That is a crazy coincidence!:what:

But I am sure that Lizzi's family is glad that LE is continuing on this case!

There was a second arrest today. Www.wmur.com it is on the front page. I'm on multiple phone so I can't get an actual link posted.

According to this article..."Marriott was last seen at Mazzaglia's apartment in early October."

Previously... It was reported that Marriott had been last seen on campus at her Tues. night class... The night she disappeared...

This is narrowing down the timeline!

I hope this arrest puts the fear of God into Kathryn McDonough and causes her to share information about what happened if she does know something. :please:

It's about time. NH is so closed during an investigation that it makes it feel like nothing is being done so it's a relief when they finally do make the arrests.

A timely apprehension to be sure.

I would be very interested in the evidence to her involvement in the crime that was only just uncovered for an arrest on Christmas Eve.

The officials said that Kathryn McDonough, 19, of Portsmouth, was arrested Monday and charged with two felony counts in connection with the disappearance and death of Elizabeth "Liza" Marriott, 19, whose body has not been found.

McDonough is charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution and conspiracy to commit hindering apprehension or prosecution. Unfortunately, unless there is some evidence of hindering apprehension, it is a misdemeanor.

Alternatively, if the individual hindering apprehension is aware that the primary person of interest committed a felony; in which case, it becomes a Class B felony more serious charge.

Has she admitted to knowing or can someone prove her knowledge??

Sounds like the squeeze is on with the state playing this card- some legal posturing.

She is being charged for what exactly no one is saying...

He has been charged and entered no plea—innocent, guilty or otherwise.

Sure would like to see something solid since they have not found Lizzi.

RIP Lizzi wherever you are…May those who care for her find peace in themselves.

My own opinion and observation.:twocents:
