IMO the attorney shouldn't ask leading questions, filling in all the blanks and just asking her to confirm it or not. He might get more out of her if he asks open ended questions and lets her fill in the answer.

Like the attorney just said 'was that meant to try to convince him...' instead of asking her 'and what was the reason you did that?'

Stop supplying her with the answer or the reason.
