I have a question... perhaps it has been discussed and I missed it. So Kat said SM raped Lizzie and he wasn't wearing a condom.... yet when they found the clothes and other evidence they found a condom. Was Kat trying to set SM up? or was she just mistaken and he was wearing a condom.... or am I missing something?

Still waiting for the physical evidence to be entered.

Me too i had to turn to the world cup is dv expert done? I was sickened to see the state attempt to portray kat as a victim in all of this. Caca

I don't think she was a victim, certainly not in the way LM was.
But, I do think that SM was abusive towards her and also sought to control her.

did you see the state of their apt? I think they just grabbed--could have been there already-

I remember that the condom was recovered from the dumpster behind their apartment along with the wrapper. KM testified in this court that the reason they had to dump the body off the island was because SM had come inside of her.

I wonder if they find DNA on that condom if that would prove KM's testimony as untruthful?

Did this doc evaluate Seth? He seems to only talk in general terms. :waitasec:

Littleone thanks for your insight but on this we will have to agree to to disagree. I have been watching also, just not from the courtroom.

I am not sure where all of these law students are sitting as there seems to be no one in the seats behind SM? Can you expand please?

I sure wish you would get verified, otherwise I will take your statements about SM as just your opinion.

You have not seen the jury and their reactions~ TV is great but to be there you are able to watch everyone~ it is interesting.

The law students are sitting all over the courtroom. Most of them have become friends during this so they sit together. Not all of them go the same day/time. I would estimate that between 6 and 10 are there on a daily basis. The way the courtroom is set up you really don't sit right behind anyone. There is about 10-15 feet between the end of the seating and the attorney tables.

I have always stated that what I know of Seth is observations of spending time with him in social situations. I will try to become verified today~

What is Barth getting at??? :waitasec:

The defense is asking about the varied impacts of abuse, and the variables that impact victims' reactions etc.... Dr. Hampton making the point that victims can feel responsible if they felt responsible at the beginning for choosing to be with the abuser.

C'mon Barth, let's get this guy off the stand, nothing to win or lose with him, he apparently didn't interview, nor is speaking specifically, about either Seth or Kat. After the drama of her testimony, the jury will need more than this to incorporate his opinions in their ultimate decision.

km and sm used condoms to prevent pregnancy. It was likely used by them the next morning. (IIRC, I think she said she threw more stuff in the dumpster in the morning...)

If it also has Lizzie's DNA.

so clearly this Dr. has not had any contact with anyone involved in this trial so guess he is just getting paid to tell his stories...and try to make Kat look sympathetic and Seth look worse. Now he is on to yet another boring story.

I'm so glad for that, I'd not want to see any of your informative posts deleted.

Barth asking about inconsistencies in victims' stories: Barth: you had described that the elements of a relationship can establish a motive to lie I love somebody and want to protect them. Hampton: absolutely, and that may act as a motive to lie… that’s true. Barth: people can also lie for self-interest correct? Hampton: That can also be for protecting myself or others, sure.

I may be alone here but I can't stand this DV expert. He seems to be talking down to everyone and playing to the camera. As a juror I would be turned off. Maybe it feels different in the courtroom. His stories just put me to sleep. I'm not saying that what he says does not make sense but something about him seems contrived.

I fell asleep after four of the anecdotal stories from this expert. I think he is probably a very genuine person but after kat's twisted roads of testimony he put me to sleep.

I get vibes of a more rarefied existence, like life in an ivory tower. Why do I think he went to Cambridge? That meeting 8,000 abusers and never feeling threatened did it for me. Was he dealing with 8,000 tea sipping and crumpet nibbling abusers?

is mitigate such a difficult word? oh no a broken leg story. If i had interviewed this guy would have never used him

This guy is full of stories! Haven't we heard enough stories in this trial already?

Barth has asked about age difference... specifically 18 to 29 ... Dr. Hampton speaks of 18 as being on the cusp of adulthood.. but mentions that context matters. As for the balance of power, he talks about how they look at the big picture for the defining power structure and uses a man's physical power as an important element in deciding that... Dr.: Who gets the final say, who has the final say to enforce what they want and that’s how you know who had control I the relationship...
