How seasoned is the State's team of attorneys?

They seem to allow testimony in without an objection. And the times they have objected the Judge almost always sides with the defense.

Andrew Civic is the States next witness... Is he the other inmate that was in the med unit with SM and the last witness? TIA

Wow, missed the morning witness but sure sounds like it was interesting per the updates. Thanks for the great updates everyone!!! So most believed the him on the stand???

i just read on another chat room where lizzie's mother was talking to the woman who is his "fiance" and she was walking out crying...I wonder if she did not know about the extent of his charges including pedofilia??? He really did not want that out...and keep looking at this woman who apparently was in first row...or maybe it was something else in general just seeing "the man of her dreams"

If his girlfriend is from far away he could be moved to be closer to her. It doesn't have to be a written agreement either, it can be verbal and the inmate is at the mercy of the State. There is no way an inmate could stay at Strafford after this~ it is a very small jail and everyone knows about everyone~

IMO

I don't know if this inmate is in a jail or a prison. But I would imagine that if Barth had sniffed out a benefit for this witness's testimony, however slight it may be, he would have brought it to this jury's attention.

Rope marks on Lizzies neck. Seth claims he blacked out and doesnt know how the marks got there.

If there were strangulation marks, it wasnt Kat who caused an accidental seizure by sitting on Lizzie during breath control

The only one (not involved in the actual death) who talked about the marks on LMs neck was Roberta Gerkin. She kept describing it as a "line". Never really talked about it as "rope marks".
When she said a line it almost sounded like the difference in LM's coloring from the neck up (Purple face/White body).
I am wondering if the bags over the head were actually a part of the death.
Maybe SM was raping LM and KM put the bags over her head and tied them off around her neck?
Just musing....

The bag over her head never made much sense to me. Unless they were freaked out by seeing her face after death :(

I'm confused. Didn't we already hear from him?

They are good attorneys. Not much you can do with a judge who just lets everything flow and errs on the side of letting all testimony in

They both did it. Kat has already admitted to that. Kat has already been sentenced, now we are dealing with Seth and hopefully he will be convicted for rape and murder.

I have to disagree with you there Minor, Kat did not admit to aiding in Lizzi's death, she sat on the stand for 10 days and repeated as often as she could get in that "Seth murdered her" while she sat next to them and did nothing.

And now the State is calling the other inmate, to do what, bolster even more that it was an accidental death during a consensual three-way with both Seth and Kat responsible? That is the only thing the State is proving today.

Zoey posted a tweet about that here as well and it was around the time of his low sugar so I assumed she was just worried about his health. JMO

I think the bags over Lizzi's face were there to make sure she died if she wasn't dead already.

I am noticing that the state does not seem to be fighting as hard for their client as Barth is for his. I sense no passion on the state's part.

They're too polite, they need to be ruthless like Barth

I really doubt would've confessed to murder to another inmate. Of course he said it was an accident. That was a story he had already agreed upon with KM.

It's a jail. Each County in the State has a jail. We have a State Prison in Concord. Inmates are moved, exchanged all the time with other States. Barth may know there is an agreement to move him but if it's not in writing he cannot bring it up.

I can't remember how many inmates are in our County jail but IIRC it is a small number compared to most States.

I'm sure you are a better judge of the actual lawyers for the state but they sure don't have much passion. Sure Barth gets snide and has some traits that are not real crowd pleasers...but he seems to believe in his case and fighting for his client. Normally I do not like defense lawyers but he is an exception. He has had some unbelievable state witnesses up there and let them ramble because he feels they are actually helping him. I don't think given the burden is on the state that defense will be terribly long. Better to let the echos of this guy resonate with the jury

IMO the 'painting' text and the tarp/gloves keep it from being consensual. Because I believe LM was raped and tortured I think both planned to kill her and get rid of the body to avoid capture.
