Good for mom. She called him a pedophile. She yelled at him and berated him. She wanted to see her daughter.

Denise M, seth's stance is Shazzzzzzzzzzzzzam (in his mind).

I see nothing wrong with what Mom did---I would do the same!

I am listening carefully to her...state did not prep her to answer in ways that would not bolster the defense case that her daughter was strong and probably not dominated by Seth. She is not helping her daughter or the state.

The next time mom saw Seth, she apologized, hugged him & gave him "props" for holding his own...he remained calm, thought was his black belt training that he did not attack her back.

"reeling in my little fish". Says the mom. I don't think she was very good at fishing!

Barth talked about the day that Denise went to the apartment and demanded to see Kat.. BARTH: .Seth steps out and shuts the door most of the way and you are again, Dude where’s my daughter ... DENISE: ... and his stance is puffed out chest… BARTH: he was calm, he asked you to leave, ' I said not until I speak to my daughter', you called him everything that you could,' yes', in his face, 'yes', you called him a pedophile, 'yes'. You called him names and berated him in front of his apartment door. He asked you to leave. You ripped him up in your terms. 'I was angry that I couldn’t see my daughter.'

Poor mom thinks she was reeling in her little guppy of a daughter instead of the orca she really is.

The state is now questioning if the Kat seemed 'strong and independent' (as Barth had gotten her to say about her daughter) after she'd met Seth. Denise said it was weird that she always had to be at a certain place and time and in a certain routine with Seth.

I can understand her wanting to stay in communication with her daughter while she is with an undesirable boyfriend, I have three daughters myself. But after that guy is arrested, that would be the end of that. I would never have driven her to the prison. This mom seems to be flailing around without a clue.

I don't think KM's mom's testimony would have much impact on me as a juror except feeling sorry for her mom. Her mother handled a really bad/difficult situation (with regard to her teenaged daughter living with a man in his late 20s) with about as much patience and persistence and restraint as I think just about anyone could have.
