I think Seth told pretty much how it happened and because he was not read his rights they can not use this in court? Then with time and defense lawyers he revised the story. I sure hope the jury makes the right call on this.

From what I've read he told them a couple different stories (kinda like Kat did).

After opening statements, when Hinckley asked for a mistrial, was it because Barth mentioned the suppressed statements? I can't recall why the prosecution asked for that but remember it was brought up earlier in the thread.

I believe it's standard procedure to ask for a mistrial at that point. Saying the State has not proven it's case. Judge always denies. I remember that from other trials as well. ie: j arias.

Well...good morning to all...as you may see I'm looking forward to the end of this trial. My guess is the defense case is going to move with lightening speed and we will see more discrediting of Kat via other witnesses together with a medical expert to indicate it could have been suffocation. Anyone expect a rebuttal case...anything opened that they can go after? For me two people killed Lizzie (seth and kat) and two were involved if nothing else not reporting (Roberta and Paul). Just because the rest are not going to be held "fully" accountable does not mean Seth who is on trial (must remind the jury of this) should get a pass. He needs to be held fully accountable and get the ultimate conviction and sentence. I am hoping.

Good Morning all!

I hope the defense part is short and the only rebut I could think of for the Prosecution would be maybe SM old girlfriend.

Good morning. I am here early, ready to go.

I've been trying to figure out why she wasn't called on Friday.
From the tweets it sounded like she was there. Maybe the pros wants her testimony to be heard towards the end for impact?

Yes...I too think the ex's impact would be best very near the end. To show that what is alleged here is a pattern of behavior that spans years. But to introduce this rebuttal there has to have been a door opened to this line of questioning...seems like the events of Oct. 9 are enough but what determines if they can have rebuttal or are they just allowed to have rebuttal.

How do you find this stuff ;) I'm glad I'm not that active on the internet - I'd be afraid to put all that out there.

Morning everyone!

Mel

I can't imagine with all the legal problems this girl has had since day one that someone would not have organized pulling everything down from the internet. That is usually the first thing a suspect will do or their attorneys. To have this stuff floating around yet today?

Who is insane if Munchausen by proxy doesn't rise to the level of insanity? I guess the fact that they know enough to hide it is enough to disqualify them, since they know it's wrong?

Good Morning Everybody!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

OT Skigirl you got it. Don't know if you caught the Julie Schnecker trial but even tho that woman had mental problems none rose to the level to the definition of legal insanity ie knowing right from wrong, reality from fantasy.

While at the hospital, after hearing that her son was dead, salt mom calls a neighbor/friend to go to her house and throw out the feeding tube. The friend thought this suspicious and turned it over to LE who found SALT in the tube.

Not insane, just plain wicked. IMO

BBM. I sincerely agree with you. Can you imagine seeing a freshly killed body and then just going about your life (Roberta and Paul). I'd be on the phone to 911 so fast, I wouldn't care about the consequence to myself.

And I do believe Kat was deeply involved in the killing. She is no damsel in distress, and I didn't believe a word that came out of her mouth on the stand.

On that note, why is SM stuck holding all the cards (no pun intended). I would like to see both Kat and Seth punished for this dirty deed. Her plea deal should be yanked right out from under her.

Question: did anyone ever find the harness? Was Lizzie's DNA on it?

JMHO.

Mel

Another case Dr Ira Kanfer was the expert for the defence.........

http://articles.courant.com/2001-01-31/news/0101312793_1_sids-death-day-care-care-center

"The verdict came just hours after Dr. Ira Kanfer told the jury that SIDS can occur to a child in any position, even ``in the arms of a mother.'' Kanfer, the defense's sole witness, was the medical examiner who conducted an autopsy on Shelby
Since no one knows what causes SIDS, the fact that the infant was placed on its side and then found dead on its stomach is just irrelevant,'' Kanfer testified."

Is this same doctor going to testify in this case for the defense?

'Morning everybody, thought I'd barely made it in time but forgot we had a 9:30 start.

Melanie, they never found the harness or any ropes, nor have we heard anything about the red stained tissues found with the gloves and underwear.
