Once again, everyone she was known to know has been accounted for. You're making up someone, who there is no proof existed and saying it's a more likely scenario than getting picked up by someone she didn't know. And saying her family should go that route. Smart.

As for walking off and dying, there was snow on the ground and no footprints leading from the scene. Maybe an alien ship snatched her up, that's just as likely as your original post.

You really are taking this too personally. We are all just throwing theories around at this point. There are three main theories. She died on her own. She was killed by some who knew her. She was killed by a local person. There is absolutely no evidence to support any of them. It pretty much just comes down to people's ideas and what they think is likely.

I lived in the dorms just like Maura did and people will have a lot of casual acquaintances that few people will know about. Chances are slim to none that we know about all the acquaintances Maura had living as a college student on campus.

Not personal at all, I'm talking known facts and you're making up stuff to promote a ridiculous theory based on nothing.

And suggesting the family should ignore the known and chase your unknown is just plain absurd.

You aren't talking facts. There are no facts in this case regarding her disappearance. The last fact we have is that she was in her car and denied help from the bus driver. Absolutely nothing is known after that point other than she was no longer in the vicinity of her car. Everything after that point is a 100% speculation.

Saying she committed suicide or had shady company in her life (which she seemingly did) is just as valid as the local dirtbag theory. People have really just grabbed on to the local dirtbag theory because it's what her family wants to believe.

To be honest though it doesn't sound like her family knew her all that well either. Most college age kids keep a lot of things from their families.

BF was 1500 miles away, ridiculous to even bring him into this.
Excuse me? Sorry, your response to me (and others) feel a bit needlessly aggressive — I’m saying he’s a shady character, not directly responsible. Feel free to reference my past posts on this thread.

Theory by who? Everyone she was known to know was accounted for.

Some of these conspiracy theories (and that's exactly what they are) are absurd.

It's not a conspiracy theory, it's a possibility. A conspiracy theory would be to claim she never left Massachussets in the first place and that it wasn't her at the accident scene in New Hampshire.
