NJ- 17 year old best friends killed in hit and run, family of one victim says she was "stalked" for months by suspect

Just a matter of time before he’s waived up to adult court to face the criminal charges. He’s already been issued over a dozen tickets for the traffic violations.

I’m local so this case is of particular interest to me.

Looks like in NJ you only have a probationary license at 17, and if I'm interpreting this correctly, you need an over-21 passenger with an NJ license (no driving alone or at certain hours)?

Must be new (and pointless). It was a full license at 17 for me. Might as well have the learner's permit until 21. How are you supposed to leave the state for college?

no different than a gun.

If anything this is worse. If they were still conscious afterward it would've been slow and excruciating. A gun can easily be instantaneous. This was personal.

He was charged as an adult. Might as well, he was only a month from turning 18.

What an odd thing to say. People don't die slowly and excruciatingly from gunshot wounds?

I was just scrolling TikTok and saw this guy's video. I knew there would be a thread here about it. Horrified at his actions!

"I do unequivocably condemn the actions of the accused, and like you, I demand that he face the consequences of his alleged actions in a court of law. As a law enforcement officer, I maintain full faith and confidence in our criminal justice system, and that it will ensure he is held fully accountable. I, too, pray for these families. I, too, demand full accountability and justice," he said.

From the same article.

"As a result of this tragic incident, I lost a neighbor – a beautiful, charismatic young lady named Isabella Salas, who I have watched grow up since the day I moved to Cranford."
..
"I am writing this to let you know that I stand WITH you – my Cranford friends and neighbors – and that I grieve WITH you," he said. "My wife, my children and I are absolutely heartbroken over this senseless loss of life, but also of the lost feeling of safety and security in the neighborhood and community that you and I call home."
