Was reading an article about this case in The New York Times and this new piece of info stood out to me. There’s so much evidence that he was harassing Maria for months. It’s incredibly disturbing. Also, incredibly infuriating that not more was done to protect this poor girl.

I said "can easily be instantaneous". Either the death or loss of consciousness. The ones that are slower and more painful, though, like to the gut, also give you more time to get to the hospital, often before it's too late. There are other ways that are considered more personal, where the perp is enraged and wants them to suffer at their own hands, like manual strangulation, which is torturous. In this case he would've felt the impact with his car.

Latest developments... I'm not saying that LM definitely intended to protect this guy, but if they did, they probably would've taken the exact same steps... Was there ill intent on their part or was it incompetence (and is one any more excusable than the other)? Or were their hands truly tied, with nothing in their authority that they could've done in those situations?
