Bridgeton police hope to identify body pulled from Cohansey River

Investigators are also trying to determine the cause of death of the man found near the Broad Street bridge. He was spotted in the water about 7:30 p.m. by jet skiers who alerted the police.

Emergency crews launched a Bridgeton Fire Department boat to recover the body, which was taken to Shore Memorial Hospital for an autopsy. The person, an adult male, appears to have been in the water for some time, police said, adding there wasn’t any apparent trauma on his body.
Detectives are waiting for fingerprints that may help them identify the person and enable them to contact his family.


When found, the person was wearing a black T-shirt with “Seniors” across the front and “2017” on the back, a beaded necklace, black pants with a tan cloth belt, and red and black Nike Air Force 1 sneakers.





Happened very close to home and really would like to try to help identify him. Very close to where the infamous Dulce Maria Alavez case took place. My town is becoming so awful its a shame. Too many young people involved in these crimes.

Seniors 2017 may allude to the victims age, unless the shirt was from goodwill or something. I remember people wearing shirts like that in high school. Graduating from highschool in 2017 would put him at around 21/22 years old.

I am curious to know what are the odds they can estimate an age range for this UID. "Adult male" and "appears to have been in the water for some time" doesn't sound good, but they might have fingerprints?

Are there ways to estimate or tell if someone is say early 20's or early 30's?

well, the shirt said class of 2017 seniors so its to be assumed he is 21 or 22 depending on DOB, they’re currently trying to ID with fingerprints but so far no luck

its also thought he was only in the water for a week, its a very busy area with many people around 24/7 im just curious how it took so long to find him to begin with!
