I have been reading all the posts and I kind of agree Charlotte may not have been in NJ at all. The problem is so much information has been lost due to the passage of time and family members deceased as well. The genealogy post that was found years ago now seems very interesting seeing as how it seems the brother-in-law Thomas Fryday was stationed in VA. Someone named Rick was looking for Charlotte and claimed she was last seen in Ft Lee VA around 1974. If he is correct maybe Charlotte was around with her sister longer than believed. If Charlotte was there did she attend school? Was it a base school? Would anyone else out there remember her? Such a puzzling case!

iirc, we have a recent active thread about female remains on a post in Virginia -- but I haven't found the thread to post here.

Anyone else see it?

If her luggage arrived, then she did arrive at the airport and checked in... in the meantime she was surely kidnapped... and quickly taken out of the area by the guy or guys... such a small girl traveling alone... seems awful to me... overconfidence with a little girl...
whatever the case
rest in peace

Wouldn't there be a flight manifest listing all the passengers if she had made it to the airport and was on that flight?

I noticed this doe NamUs #UP2607 found in New York has matching information to Charlotte, and some resemblance in the artist recreation. I couldn’t find more pictures of Charlotte to compare chin and nose shapes further/from different angles which is a shame, it would be interesting to see if they also resembled the recreation of Doe. Location wise New York would fit, and they haven’t been excluded on Namus yet. Submitted as a potential match just in case.

If I recall correctly, she went to school in Michigan.

Charlotte Loomis: Leaving on a Jet Plane

Brace yourselves, this will be an uncomfortable IMO...

Charlotte never left on a jet plane. She didn't even arrive at the airport. Charlotte did stay with her sister, Carole Fryday, and her husband, Tom, at their home in Eatontown, New Jersey where he was stationed at the military base. However, Charlotte wrote to her parents saying that she wanted to come home to Detroit, Michigan. So they arranged a direct flight from Newark to Detroit.

Charlotte's luggage did arrive at Detroit and her parents were there to pick her up, but she didn't show. Her brother Ed said they panicked and soon, security guards, airport police, and the Detroit PD were at the scene. Carole was questioned and she said she put Charlotte on the plane. Her husband Tom was never questioned. In 2000, at Charlotte's stepfather's deathbed, Carole said Charlotte was misbehaving and had even gotten pregnant which resulted in an abortion at the Eatontown military base. Their younger sister, Laurie, doesn't believe this narrative.

And now for the disturbing part. After Charlotte's stepfather died, her brother, Dewaine, said that when Charlotte wrote to their parents, she also wrote to him begging him to pick her up because Carole and Tom were mistreating her. Dewaine couldn't do that because he was in the Army, but he did go AWOL looking for Charlotte when she vanished. Laurie has revealed that both Carole and Tom were involved in many illegal activities while he was stationed at the base including dealing with drugs.

So here's what I think...

Charlotte died at the hands of her sister and her husband. I think the reason why was that she was going to tell her parents about their illegal activities. And you know, I wouldn't be surprised if she said Tom Fryday was molesting her too. I think she was killed shortly before the flight was to take place. Carole and Tom simply took her luggage to the airport and dropped it off. As for her body, I think it's still buried in Eatontown.

Yeah, Charlotte was definitely not in a safe environment with Carole and her husband it seems. I don’t think Charlotte even arrived at the airport in New Jersey like Carole claimed.

There doesn’t seem to be any evidence that she ever set foot in the airport to return home. It was a cover story. Carole could’ve checked Charlotte’s luggage in so that they would arrive in Michigan and make it look like she got on the plane.

IMO, Carole unapologetically covered up her sister’s death to protect her husband. Either that or she directly participated in killing her.
