He rejected an offer by the prosecution that would have given him 35 years. I don't think he will do any better by going to trial. 35 year sentence in prison was a gift.

He was driving while drunk, over the legal limit. I see that the defense is trying to bring up being a "veteran", and he talked to his mother, and she upset him.

So, he had to drink and drive, and not follow rules of the road? Never pass on the right side.

I know! What does he think will be any better if he goes to trial? The victims are very sympathetic, the wives with their children who are fatherless now. Families destroyed.

They were riding bikes on a road, in their neighborhood. I don't see a defense of blaming the victims going anywhere.

The defendant's wife wouldn't even vouch for him.

I have faith that he will receive a guilty verdict on both counts AND that the sentence will be consecutive and longer than that original plea offer. I am confident that there is nothing he can produce to mitigate that he was driving aggressively while drunk. Here's to many more years than the 35 offered.
