Dan is believed to have left his residence in Stanhope, NJ on foot, but may have been picked up. He left his wallet, cell phone, and glasses behind.

According to local sources, his girlfriend was found deceased in their home after he went missing. It seems she passed after he disappeared. But oddly, this case had received little media attention in the area.

He was reported to be last seen on May 16, 2025. New Jersey judicial records show a person with his name and general age in his county of residence was arrested on drug charges on May 15, 2025. THAT Dan Butkis is Daniel J. Butkis, 5 foot 9, 150 pounds born in New Jersey in 1988, resident of New Jersey.
