NJ NJ - Danielle Lopez, 37, went camping in Wharton State Forest, car found in Penn State Forest, 13 Apr 2024

I am hoping this is unrelated, but I just saw this article about a new missing woman who just disappeared from an area not far from (in a general sense) from where Danielle disappeared. There are a few other missing women from the Pine Barrens area of South Jersey. This all makes me think, “Hmmmm?”

Sorry to reply to my own post, but I forgot to add that I posted my previous post before having a chance to research this newest disappearance. It was a gut-reaction to seeing the article. So if anyone has any info on this new disappearance and if it may be related to Danielle’s disappearance, please post here if the Admins feel that is appropriate or if they feel another thread should be started. Thanks.

It’s been over a year since 37-year-old Danielle Lopez went missing after she was last seen in New Jersey’s Pine Barrens. NBC10’s Siobhan McGirl reports as her case gets national attention thanks to NBC’s Dateline.

'Since her disappearance, multiple efforts have been made to find her. The Missing Persons Unit released an image of Lopez leaving a store the same day she went missing.'

Such a sad case. I just read remains were found that somewhat match Danielle, no great details were provided as to if any clothing or personal items were found as well. The distance from the last location Danielle was seen and where these remains are found is a stretch, but thought I'd share. Human remains found in N.J. woods partially identified, police say

I’ve been watching the reports about these remains and wondered the same thing. So sad for whomever this is, but at least hoping that finding and identifying them begins to bring some sense of “closure” to their family.

I live in the County and would love to help if the NJ State Police were to indicate that a search would be OK. I realize a search could probably be done anyway, but I feel it’s important to have the “blessing” of the police so that potential clues/evidence aren’t compromised. I know a lot of horse people and ATV people that may also be willing to help if a search were allowed.

I know it is not the police’s responsibility to keep the public apprised of details, but I wonder -
1. WAS someone with her at WaWa (it almost looks like she was smiling as if she saw someone outside that she knew.
2. Was there a note left that may indicate she was depressed/suicidal - especially since she and the family seemed to have been through so much heartbreak.
3. Did the position of the driver’s seat indicate she may have been driving or was it adjusted for someone of a different height?
I live in the County as well, and even though am learning of this much later than yourself, my wife and I would participate in search if one were organized for volunteers such. Agree with you on questions. I am still re-reading details on this but was her boyfriend with her or not? It seems from a Youtube video her mother posted (See end of this thread where I posted it) that someone may have been with her.

I re-read this thread, watched the videos, read a few articles, and listened to the Dateline Missing episode, which was very sad and heartbreaking. All of it, especially hearing Danielle's Mom and the familial loss she has endured.
In thinking of all of this, there is one thing, well two I keep coming back to, which has been said already on this thread.
The boyfriend, James Scott Dunn, whom the mother disliked and feels not only he knows more but another camper that was near Danielle's site does as well. The boyfriend was arrested within days of her disappearance (unrelated charges) and did not report her missing ala Gabby Petito?
He was with her and then left her alone in the woods to camp? Dunn also knew the other camper had been problematic around Danielle?
Something is very off there

The other thing that bothers me is the people that spoke to Danielle as her car was stuck in a hole and broken down is they had her on Go Pro video asking for help and they refused to help push the car out of the hole? Or give her a lift out of the woods to the main road or to a service station?
WTAF is wrong with people?

Here are two articles I believe are not linked here

Thanks for posting this info. After reading the Oxygen article I have a few thoughts / questions -

1. Is there proof that the boyfriend was not at the campsite and /or with her at the time of her disappearance?

2. Did the boyfriend and/or the other camper have a vehicle? (If so, this really expands the area where she may be located.)

3. If not for Danielle’s disappearance would the boyfriend still be incarcerated? (Just wondering if LE believes he is involved and has been able to push for his continued incarceration in order to keep him from disappearing and/or hoping he will talk to another inmate who will share the info with LE.)

4. What is known about the “other camper” - i.e. criminal background, etc)?

The Other Camper
The neighboring camper—referred to in case discussions and some reports as “FS”—did have a vehicle at their own campsite during the time Danielle Lopez and her boyfriend were camping in the area. Accounts from witnesses and summary reports confirm this person was camped nearby with a vehicle, which was noted by both other campers and those reviewing the timeline of events.

Additionally the Private Investigator working with the Mom, Sue Quackenbush has been posting deep dives on the case via LinkedIn

Part 2 discusses the neighboring camper

I apologize for posting my thoughts before reading all of the information you posted as it looks like you’ve done an excellent job posting some very good information. I was on my way back from helping my daughter at her new barn and posted my thoughts as I was thinking them.

Thank you for your very thorough search for information related to Danielle’s disappearance!

Thank you very much for your kind words. I'm fairly new here as you may know, and this is the first case that I've looked at and is within the County I live. I'm going to keep looking and see what I can contribute.

No worries at all -- I'm here at work til 1230a it's relatively quiet, which allows me time to work on stuff like this, and research for my own writing.

Fingers crossed all went well at the barn and lots of luck to her.

I thought I had posted this one; The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

too many similarities for me.

I had sent it to LE back when I first saw it, followed up 8/19 and they said they were still in the process of having the DNA tested. How long do these tests take? I don't want to send a follow up email if it's waaaaaaaaay too soon.
