Logically, Alves is the murderer... surely the husband met Alves at some point when he went out and found out that Darlene was home alone... and since she knew him, he allowed him to enter... probably he made sexual advances to her, she resisted and ended up subduing her... he took her away forever... or maybe he had already threatened her and that's why she quickly looked for a place to move... I couldn't find the husband's name... there are only a few elderly nieces left who are still waiting to find out what happened to Darlene... and Alves got out free of dust and straw... he only spent a few years in prison... maybe he even continued killing afterwards...
