extraordinary that he openly talked of killing his family but his mother refused to get him help, and then he did what he had told her he would do and killed her and his father and other family members, he was crying out for help with the thoughts that he wanted to get help for, and his mums sister begged her to address the problem, but she never did and he acted on the bad thoughts in his head,

if only she had done what he asked, and what her sister tried to make her do, get him some therapy, if needed have him go to a locked hospital facility whilst it was worked out what was wrong, how to treat him, this may never have happened if he had been helped,

and to know he spoke openly about killing his family and then having a gun in the home defies belief,

That’s not as easy as it sounds, though—not all Americans have health insurance or plans that even cover mental health related services. Long Branch is a middle/lower-middle class city, so it seems plausible that perhaps this family couldn’t consider this option. Father Steve was a truck driver for a local concrete company and mother Linda did not work outside the home, which makes me wonder if lack of money played a role in the shooter not getting help for his mental illness.

Scott Kologi thought about killing family for long time: Psychiatrist

I think I would vote NG by reason of insanity, he was begging for help with the thoughts that he could not stop of wanting to kill his family, his family especially his mum and aunt were fully aware of his requests to get him help otherwise he would act on the persistent thoughts that were to kill his family, his aunt begged her sister (defendants mum) to get him help, she became even more concerned when she (the aunt) learned another family member had bought a gun and it was kept in the family home, the defendants mum told her sister to stop talking about it to her or she would have to leave the house, his aunt lived in the home with defendant and his family,

his mum told defendant she would not get him help as he would be taken away from the family and locked in an institute (not verbatim), he was also very lacking in age appropriate behaviour, he slept in his parents bed at 16, his mum dressed him, she prepared him special food, I have not learned what kind of school he went to or if he was home schooled but to me he wasn't getting the appropriate help for either his autism or his mental health problems,

his family should have got him immediate help, once he began to talk openly about wanting to kill his family they should have reached out to the authorities, social services for children should have been involved and this may have meant he was removed from the family to a place where he could pose no danger for a time so that he could be diagnosed and hopefully treated for his mental health issues.

it is extraordinary that the whole family were aware that he was constantly talking about killing his family or other people, he seemed to have been utterly fixated on it, and his mum just kept dismissing other family members concerns,

he also went to a school for children with differing needs, I wonder if he spoke of his wish to kill at school

and am utterly horrified that LE were allowed to interrogate a 16 year old boy who has differing needs, who is autistic, without him being assessed to see if he fully understood what Miranda was, whether he understood the possible consequences of talking to LE, and all that and no appropriate adult, his brother was so not an appropriate choice to be the person who sat in his interrogation, if he was he would have never allowed his brother to talk to LE

when will everybody learn one never ever utters one word to LE ever without a lawyer present, and even if a lawyer is present it is still best to not speak during an ongoing investigation,
