Wonderful.
And that's great that you had a heart for someone in need and contributed. I'm sorry that persons like yourself were mislead and taken advantage of.
In the spirit of the holiday season I hope this doesn't discourage people from giving to those are truly in need.

Thank you Sherwood Park ~ after a few days of being upset over this, my normal side returned and I have continued on with donations for causes I believe in.. Happy Holidays!!

Johnny Bobbitt Jr. was released on bail from a New Jersey jail following a hearing [last] Friday.

A Burlington County judge ruled that Bobbitt must attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings three times a week, stay drug-free, and avoid contact with co-defendants Kate McClure and Mark D'Amico. Bobbitt can return to Philadelphia with proof that he has somewhere to live.

McClure and D'Amico also are out on bail and will have their first hearings on Dec. 24 in a Burlington County courtroom.

A prosecutor in Burlington County, New Jersey, said Monday that Mark D'Amico could serve as long as 30 days for driving with a suspended license three times spanning March 2017 to May 2018.

D'Amico has also been charged in Florence Municipal Court with criminal trespass because he has refused to move out of a house he once shared with McClure after he was asked to leave by her grandmother, who owned the property. McClure and D'Amico reportedly split up in August. D'Amico denied trespassing at the property and said he had a lease.

D'Amico and McClure are going to be in a race to the bottom trying to throw each other under the bus now.

I was watching a show on the ID channel last month and it talked about somebody who had electronic monitoring who went on a murder spree. It showed the fact that they were not monitored in lifetime to view if they we're not in compliance, and nobody really ever monitored them even after the fact.

Bobbitt’s lawyer told the newspaper that he spoke to him last Friday and expected him to be in court on Tuesday.

“Maybe he got caught up with public transportation. … I hope he gets here and I hope he’s safe,” said John Keesler.

I saw that same case.

It infuriated me how sloppy they were.

Imo they enabled him where he was able to do his murders.

You would think they would have learned their lesson from that tragic case.

I've seen other cases where the ones on an ankle monitor weren't monitored closely either, and they also did more violent crimes.

I did see one case though where being on an ankle monitor the police were able to track the suspects movements proving he had murdered a young woman.

He was allowed to go to work, and back, but the monitor showed he was at a young woman's house when he invaded her home where he raped, and murdered her.

It not only pinpointed him being there, but the exact amount of time he was there too.

Imo

So as one of the people scammed in this case, I have very mixed feelings about the sentence for Mr. Bobbitt. On one hand, as the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, I am so appreciative of his service to our Country, and if his drug addiction is due to depression (as reported) because of his service then I think he truly needs help and that the sentence is just. But it is very hard for me to actually believe anything I read about him anymore. Perhaps he truly is an addict that got involved with the wrong people and couldn't see how wrong this was.. I just don't know..

As for the other two, I hope the judge sees them for what they truly are and their punishment reflects that. Vacations, new cars, designer bags, fancy clothes, all by preying on other's generosity and support for a homeless veteran at Thanksgiving. Just disgraceful..

State Court - Bobbitt
Bobbitt, 36, agreed to testify against his co-conspirators and cooperate with state authorities. He is expected to serve five years’ probation and be accepted into a program that will allow him to avoid prison if he remains drug-free. If he doesn’t complete the program he faces up to five years in state prison. Bobbitt will enter drug treatment following his sentencing hearing, which is scheduled for April 12.
A Judge said he would work with the attorneys to move the date up so Bobbitt can start treatment sooner. He will remain in the Burlington County Jail until he is placed in rehab. After sentencing, Bobbitt will be sent to a nearby treatment facility, where he could spend three to nine months in the initial phase.

Federal Court - Bobbitt
Bobbitt pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. He faces 6 to 30 months in federal prison. A Judge agreed to postpone sentencing on the federal charges until he completes the drug program.

Federal Court - McClure
McClure, 28, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. She faces up to 33 months in prison when she is sentenced on June 19.

State Court - McClure
She also faces conspiracy to theft by deception charges filed by Burlington County prosecutors. That case is pending.

State Court - D'Amico
D’Amico, 39, faces the same criminal charges in the pending Burlington County case.

Federal Court - D'Amico
Prosecutors have not said whether he will face federal charges.

Katelyn McClure pleaded guilty in state Superior Court to second-degree theft by deception under a plea agreement that calls for her to serve four years in state prison and help repay the $400,000.

She had initially faced up to 10 years in prison if convicted under the charges prosecutors initially brought.

McClure faces sentencing on state charges in June.

She also pleaded guilty to one federal count of wire fraud conspiracy in the scheme, and Bobbitt also pleaded guilty to a federal money laundering charge last month.

No sentencing date has been set for either on those federal charges.
