GUILTY NJ - Joe Galfy, 73, brutally murdered at his Clark home, 13 May 2013 *'Kai the hitchhiker ARRESTED*

  • #21
Gah, I don't want to say it's invented, but this gentleman that he murdered I mean how did they hook up? The kid lived rough for a long time so he knows what's up. Invented. No doubt he didn't like what transpired, but you can't go around murdering people.

"I've always relied on the kindness of strangers" brings on new meaning.

Plus who the he*l goes posting such a thing on a public forum? I can see ya wouldn't head to the police station, but???????????

Invented.
Not out of the question that Kai was in Times Square hustling, picking up cash for sex.

The victim has a facebook page, so an online presence says to me he followed the whole story a few months ago. Maybe he contacted Kai via online means.

It will all come out in the wash now he is arrested...

Jell, I think that same dude interviewed him previously as well. Honestly I thought they were sort of pimping the guy out. No pun intended. Then again he's an adult and could have just split without saying a word.

He was acting a lil trippy when he testified against Mr. Jesus. Then again I so didn't want to judge. I'm a sucker for young people out there.

Glad LE caught him quick, but he does not seem to have been a very enterprising knight of the road. I thought we'd be seeing raids of hobo camps, stopped trains and searches of boxcars in switching yards, and perhaps the Canadian Mounties involved after a border crossing, following the tracks of his footsteps as he veered westward from Saskatoon.

Don't forget drum circles, flesh suspension shows, carnivals, Burlesque haunts, and any other place my offspring patronizes.

"Enterprising knight of the road" is eloquent. Great name for a band as well.

Oh Lord hobo's? My DD would flip. They have a new name. I forget because the way it was told to me smacked of condescencion.

well, in answer to Mr Hitchiker's question posed on his FB page I would

Spit the evidence in a tissue and tuck it in my pocket, exit the home and once outside call police to report my rape. I would then be available for testimony. What I would not do is murder my rapist while he slept in the afterglow and disappear leaving the mess for someone else to deal with.

nuff said. Not buying it. Very self serving.

What horrible way for Mr. Galfy to have to die. Prayers for his family as they prepare to bury the poor man.

Meanwhile I had to know. The "suspect" was in the Starbuck's at 10th street and someone recognized him. I thought this cat was street smart. Why would you go in any Starbucks first of all? This is a busy one in a gorgeous building. It used to be a Club we went to way back. London Victory.

Meanwhile never mind the comments at link like "I used to eat ribs with this dude". Although timely.

This all goes to show - something, though I am not sure what this all goes to show.

It goes to show that a crazy man with a hatchet is very amusing until somebody gets hurt. (And I thought Kai was adorable, but why did I think he was harmless when he carried around a hatchet?)

Maybe its best to wait until all the facts are in. While murder is horrific, it's also a serious crime to drug and rape someone.

Just because this man is homeless and eccentric, it doesn't mean it's ok for him to be preyed upon in this manner. Running away is a very poor choice, but maybe we should consider his lifestyle and the way he's accustomed to dealing with violent encounters with strangers.

I'm responding the same way I would if this were a woman reporting the same crime. Just waiting for all the facts.

Here's the original thread

Hindsight I tell ya. Catch Kitty says "It goes to prove very crazy person is not a killer" and next post my brilliant self says "These are the kind of crazy people we need".

If this kid has his haircut like that one photo he looks like every young guy out on the corners of South Street here looking for money. What is the face tattoo? A tear drop?

Hmm... Oh well what can I say....
I have no words and am very disappointed about this

He actually gave this interviewer his first and middle name as his last name. He goes into depth about his childhood in Canada. No excuse of course, but it's not pretty.

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/behind-t...ker-gives-intimate-interview-about-dark-past/

“All of these scars have healed, but they’re still scars,” he solemnly said. “I don’t want to go back to being a certain way. This inner-child that I’ve guarded his whole life is still right here and intact. And I love this inner-child very much. I respect this inner-child, I value this inner-child. And I am the dad that I always wanted.”

Hinting at a distant, perhaps abusive father that he does not want to emulate, Kai said: “I go out camping all the time. I’m good to people. I don’t judge myself for what I do. I ask myself the reasons behind it.”

It sounds as though he grew up in a very abusive environment and was emotionally damaged as a result. What could have happened that caused him to run away and pursue a homeless, vagabond lifestyle at such an early age? I'm sure we'll find out what kind of abuse he was subjected to. Keep in mind, he spoke of this abuse before he was involved in this recent assault.

Not sure if you guys have ever heard of Kai, so I'll give a small summary of what he became an Internet meme for. A few months ago, he was hitchhiking and was picked up by a guy who ... Well, turned out to be crazy. He apparently started saying a bunch of racist crap and telling Kai he was Jesus and then, in the middle of the car ride, ran over this random black man on purpose. Two women rushed over to help, then the crazy guy jumped out of his car, ran over to the women and started punching one of them.

Kai happened to have a hatchet with him for some reason. He tried to get the man off the poor woman but, seeing that he was too strong, grabbed his hatchet and started bashing him over the head with the blunt end. The man was soon arrested, both women are all right, and the man who was run over had to get some minor surgery but is recovered by now. Kai was interviewed by reporters and it was hilarious, then he gave the "So I ran up behind him with a hatchet and smash! Smash! SO-MAAASH!" that became a meme.

Well, he's now been arrested for murder:
http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local/new_jersey&id=9104988

Kai alleges that the man drugged and orally raped him, and I'm assuming he snapped and killed the guy (maybe accidentally, during a fight).

I'm tempted to believe him since he seems to be a genuinely good guy, having saved those two people and all. If it's true, I would honestly consider just letting him go - what would YOU do if you woke up sore and realize the stranger next to you had raped you? I think it was a crime of passion, if that's the right term for it. Obviously, killing the guy is the wrong way to go, but there's no telling how you'd react. I'd like to think I would react in the right way, but I (and hopefully none of you guys) have never been in that situation and I'd be so furious I'd probably go feral and rip my rapist's face off with my bare hands.

What are your thoughts?

And if you could decide what happens to Kai , would you let him go? If not, what punishment would you give him?
