Lauren Blackburn, 23, has not been seen since around 6 p.m. on April 19 in the vicinity of Firestone Library, according to the department. He was wearing blue jeans with torn knees, a yellow t-shirt with a black zippered hooded sweatshirt and blue flat-bottom shoes.

Blackburn is 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He also has brown eyes and black hair.

An extensive water search for Blackburn is expected to resume on April 22 at Lake Carnegie, WPVI-TV reported.

Rescue crews began searching the water around midnight April 22, stating a missing person's phone was pinging in the area, according to the Philadelphia-based TV station.

Police were using sonar units and drones from Hamilton Township to assist, as well as K-9 units.

Anyone with information on Blackburn is asked to contact the Department of Public Safety at(609) 258-1000

The Department of Public Safety began its search for Blackburn on the night of Monday, April 21, at Lake Carnegie, a man-made reservoir located a mile away from the campus library, where Blackburn was last seen. A missing person's phone was pinged to the area, but DPS has yet to recover it or determine if it belonged to Blackburn.

The expression on his face in that cctv photo. To me, he looks really distressed.

But what the heck do they mean that a missing person’s phone has pinged to the area around the lake, but they aren’t sure if it’s his and they haven’t found the phone. Surely, you must know what phone you’re pinging, to ping it? That’s just a really odd and confusing statement. MOO

This popped up on my FYP on TikTok this morning. There wasn't any information that hasn't already been covered here, but at least it's getting some publicity elsewhere as well. Hoping he is just taking a much needed break. I know this time of year is incredibly stressful for college students with the end of the semester/finals etc.

I think that's just lazy reporting. Unfortunately a lot of news sites build their stories from other news sites info without verifying. In this case I think they read the phrase "New Jersey authorities reported that they were searching near Lake Carnegie Tuesday after a missing person’s phone pinged near the body of water, although it’s not clear if they were searching for Blackburn." from Wave3 News (Missing Princeton student is a National Merit Scholar from Corydon, Indiana ) and translated that to stating they were not sure if the phone (being looked for) was THIS missing person (Blackburn).

Most other reports state that Blackburn's phone pinged in the location of the lake area. Authorities desperately search near lake for missing Princeton junior who disappeared from campus without a trace

I agree with you on the last photo or Lauren in the yellow striped T-shirt, he looks very distressed to me.

He was last seen at about 6 p.m. Saturday, April 19, near Firestone Library.

On Washington Road at about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, an emergency vehicle towed two red inflatable motorboats toward Lake Carnegie. A Trenton fire truck and other emergency vehicles gathered at the lakefront near the Harrison Street bridge. Two drones were flying over the lake at noon.

A fire truck is parked on the grass next to a lake, a white house is in the background.

Search continues…

Sadly, Lauren’s body has been found.

No cause of death?
LE isn't obligated under the law to give the cause of death to the media or public. In many circumstances, accident or other no criminal event, the family will wish that to remain private, and LE will honor that. Sometimes they do release it, if only to assure the public there is no danger, but they don't have to.
