Moorestown (Burlington County), NJ teen sought in bomb making incidents. The teen turned 18 years-old on Saturday and was due to graduate from Moorestown High School this week and was to start at Rutgers University in the Fall. He has now reportedly fled the country and is being sought by Federal officers.

His High School Yearbook reportedly said he was “Most likely to hack the CIA”.

The police response led to the execution of a search warrant on the home the teen shares with his parents in the 400 block of East Oak Avenue.

Inside, authorities say they found a lab in the basement with materials for explosive devices.

"He had a lab in the basement that had additional explosive material, so that was removed because of the volatility of that material that was denoted in their backyard," said Moorestown's Director of Police, Patrick Reilly.

The boy turned 18 over the weekend, when he allegedly joined fellow teenagers in igniting bombs in the backyard of someone else’s home in Moorestown, according to police.

“I thought there was an earthquake or something,” neighbor Soujanya Gamini told ABC 6 of the explosions that rocked the Cove Road area.

Reilly said the case is being handled by the FBI, with the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office mulling what charges, if any, will be filed against the suspect.

Your post came as I was adding to my original post. I am local and we have friends that live on both Cove Rd and on E Oak Ave. Both are very nice areas with large, expensive homes. I can’t imagine being barely 18 y/o and fleeing the country rather than going to graduation and beginning the next chapter of my life.

I also don’t understand how the parents could not know that he had “lab” in the basement with “volatile explosives”. I am not saying that they DID know, I just don’t understand how a parent wouldn’t know there was SOMETHING “off” in the basement.

Reports say the parents are cooperating and I can imagine they are devastated at this sudden turn of events. But I do wonder how an 18 y/o has the knowledge and financial means to flee the country.
