I don't think the flight patterns and behaviors of the drones suggest this. By now, the whole world knows about these drones, so all "stealth" and "covert ops" are essentially gone (as far as moving munitions is concerned). JMO

*shrug* agree to disagree. Naval Weapons Station Earle has munitions. It’s a straight shot from there to the UK and Germany, where drones have also been spotted over our bases. IMO MOO

Maybe. I'm not convinced they're carrying munitions, though. I think the "old school" method of hauling them in trucks (unmarked or disguised), then loading onto ship by night would be more discreet, but that's just me.

I’m betting 100% it is NOT our government. They have no reason to create such chaos. They have numerous areas they could test with less people. Moo

I live in NYC and one night last month there was a large drone hovering outside my apartment, much bigger than any of the recreational drones or NYPD drones I’ve seen. As soon as I grabbed my phone to record it, the lights turned off and it disappeared.

After going out with police to observe reports of possible drones, I was with the help of civilian pilots and others able to do deeper analysis and concluded that most of the possible drone sightings that were pointed out to me were almost certainly planes. Let me explain: THREAD

While not receiving any feedback/info from federal officials, I reached out to civilian aviators/others for analysis. I used public flight tracking tools to recreate the conditions of my time out. For instance I was at Round Valley Reservoir at 9:20pm and shot this video. 2/9

While I didn’t observe a plane in the flight tracker at that moment that night, I was able to pull up more detailed flight data subsequently and spotted this one small plane taking the path of what was pointed out to me the other night as a possible drone flying near us. 3/9

I share this because this is the kind of analysis we need but are not getting from the federal government to explain this situation. FAA experts have much more experience/resources to identify aircraft. Instead I’m left to draw on civilian support and public apps. 4/9


I don’t discount others may have seen actual drone activity, and not all I saw is fully explained by flight paths, but much of it was. And I think the process through which I got confirmation points to the kind of explanation we need from gov authorities to address the public’s concern. 5/9


Press releases from federal agencies that don’t share analysis of evidence and instead just reiterate statements aren’t helpful in this moment. We have a lot of distrust in politics/government right now, and we need federal gov to respect the right for the public to be informed. 6/9


Federal experts should provide information and guidance to the public including local police departments like the one that took me out to help them decipher what they are seeing. Instead myself and others requesting are getting no feedback. 7/9


I think this situation in some ways reflects this moment in our country. People have a lot anxiety right now about the economy, health, security etc. And too often we find that those charged with working on these issues don’t engage the public with the respect and depth needed. 8/9

I’ll keep pressing to get answers about possible drones and help us understand what’s going on. On top of that, I’ll push for a government that is more responsive to the people. A customer service governance that treats people with respect, transparency and accountability. END

While others are speculating on if the drones are doing surveillance, I wonder if they are carrying a deadly payload in the form of a chemical or bio weapon? JMO

They use drones here to look for fugitives. Or often for mapping accidents. Law enforcement use of drones is common here. But they have to stay very low, 45 feet from ground level.

Exactly. What people want is real info, not, "don't worry about it, you're fine."

It's been literally weeks - surely they can figure out a tally and communications plan.

I'm thinking most sightings are in fact normal craft, but there are strange instances like multiple drones approaching from the ocean at the same time. What are those?

Let us hope that they have bigger dreams for their deadly payload than suburban NJ. This would be like envisioning retail domination and then launching in Iowa. No self-respecting terrorist is orbiting Scotch Plains, New Jersey, we aren’t even a good symbolic target because you’ve never heard of it, right? Precisely.

What keeps crossing my mind is that this is possibly great testing for biological warfare.

I don't want to think that. I would be happy to hear that it's Amazon testing faster delivery drones. Or that it's LE or the military testing defense drones. Or that it's some weird hoax pulled off for TikTok.

But the silence is deafening re: any kind of realistic explanation from authorities/our government. US Senators, some with very high security clearances, are asking questions and seem to be in the dark too. That concerns me.

As many say above this whole episode is the epitome of absolute stupidity. The answer can be had in minutes. Shoot a a few of these things down. There are literally millions of people who went to bed be last night with needless anxiety.. The US has the technology to put a missile on spot size of a quarter. The reaction to this issue warrants full disclosure even it has a secret clearance of some sort, So just issue a damn press release this morning and have a press conference today. There has been tens of thousands of call to the police and other authorities. And who ever is responsible for this fiascos hour get their fired

During recovery efforts, the FAA initially closed the airspace around Ashville, NC airport to drones due to a couple of near miss.

I don't understand why the don't ground the drones for a day or two.

The way I see this, the government owes us a detail presentation on why they believe there is no threat. Show us the data, the research, the analysis of how you derived your conclusion.

For years they spend millions trying to convince us UFOs were a hoax. Now we see they lied. I certainly don't believe these are UFOs, but they need to show their cards. I hope it's not going to take months of congressional hearings to get the answer.
