placenta and umbilicus still attached to baby........

"When police arrived at Dorvilier’s home on the 200 block of Rutgers Avenue, they found a trail of blood inside and outside the residence. In one bathroom they found blood stains on the floor and toilet, and a rag.

The suspect’s sister, Joeannah Dorvilier, and her mother, Juana Sully, who were at the home, told investigators they did not know Dorvilier had given birth or been injured."

How do these people live that they hadn't "noticed" blood trails all in and out of their house, on the toilet, bloody rags, etc.? Are they all bat #**^ crazy?

ok there is more news on her court appearance:

1. Judge has emphasized need for psych exam

"Haines said that if she were to post bail, she would not be released until a psychiatric evaluation was presented to the court.

2. accused indicates she will be hiring a private lawyer to represent her and her appearance in court was video link. With the MSM link below there are some very nice photos of her family who were in court today. I do feel for them they must be overwhelmed and confused.

"Dave Joseph, who discovered the burning baby and held Dorvilier down, told police the woman said the baby wasn't hers. Police said they found a trail of blood leading from Dorvilier's home and she appeared to be bleeding while at the hospital afterward.''

Family has announced that they have named the deceased baby Angelica

"Dorvilier's family has decided to name the baby Angelica, said Pastor Richard Esher of the Browns Mills United Methodist Church.

He said that he met with Dorvilier's mother and two sisters Tuesday, and that "they're not who I expected to find when I went to their house this morning."

Esher described them as "gracious, loving people" and said, "They're very confused as to how this could have happened."

Family is very upset as they did not know of the pregnancy and that Dorvilier needed help. They are upset that they didn't recognize that she needed help.

I definitely feel for the extended family of Baby Angelica.

I see the makings of a MH defense coming together before our eyes :cow: and can only SMH at this heinous case.

There were options and I am bereft that she chose not to see them. Instead she tortured and murdered an innocent newborn this way.

:tears:

What a beautiful name, Angelica :angel:

I still don't understand how the family could not have noticed all the blood in the home...

it may have been ''downstairs'' /guest bathroom from what I gathered in the link I last posted.

Her mom and sisters are really feeling awful because they didn't know (a) she was pregnant and (b) that she was in ''bad way emotionally'' (my paraphrase). They are feeling a whole bunch of feelings ranging from anger, loss sadness and frustration that someone they loved couldn't confide in them or come for help. Moo

in court HD

"Dorvilier did not make any statements besides answering the judge’s yes-or-no questions. She said she had an attorney but did not know the person’s name yet."

''Superior Court Judge Philip Haines kept her bail at $500,000, with no 10 percent cash option"

''The baby died of smoke inhalation and burns, according to an autopsy report''

Vigil Held:

attended by two sisters one of whom is in college

father of the child is unknown

lots of info at link:

'"Authorities said Dorvilier hid the pregnancy from her mother and younger sister, with whom she shared a split-level home in the 200 block of Rutgers Avenue. She gave birth alone in the ground-level bathroom, where police later found a bloody toilet and rag.

After giving birth, Dorvilier drove a mile and a half to Simontown Road."

I'm gobsmacked that a crime of this brutality and magnitude qualifies for any bail whatsoever.

I  for Baby Angelica. Truly.

Hope to expand number of safe havens available. Would be beneficial to include first aid stations and firehalls where there is emergency personnel 24/7.

'"“The tragic situation in Burlington County really led to me thinking we need to expand the number of safe havens that we have in New Jersey,” said Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini (R-Ocean). “Currently anybody can take an infant to hospitals and to police stations, but I felt very strongly that there needs to be an expansion of sites where distraught people can take an infant before another tragedy occurs.”
