I'm all for stiff sentences when it comes to murder, rape and all of the awful things we do to each other, especially to children. However, I have to say that, for Hyphernkemberly, it seems as if the insanity defense should have been further pursued rather than pleading her case out. I don't see any reports for what was revealed in the mental health assessment from last Fall. She had initially pled not guilty to murder charges then, six months after the assessment, pled guilty to aggravated manslaughter. Maybe there wasn't justification for an insanity defense. It just seems like to me that anyone who would do this to their own baby has to be completely off their rocker. Oh, it's just so sad, all around.

I agree. I can't imagine what was going thru her mind. She had delivered the baby then I guess freaked. I can't imagine that she thought she would get away with it
