New Jersey State Police are seeking the public’s help with locating a missing Dumont woman who is mentally disabled.

Authorities said Samantha McManus, 27, was last seen at her Dumont home around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

McManus is described as a white woman who is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. She has blonde hair, blue eyes and walks with a distinct limp.

State police said McManus might be in the New York City area.

Anyone with information on McManus’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Dumont Police Department at 201-387-5000.

"She's an adult. She wants to do adult things, but I don't let her go out at night," Marie said.

Samantha apparently has figured out the bus schedule, and lives down the road from stops that could give her quick access to New York City.

The last time she left home, she apparently made her way into the Port Authority and onto the subways.

Family members say Samantha doesn't have a lot of money.

"Tuesday night comes nothing, Wednesday night, now I'm in panic mode because I don't know who's taking care of her," Marie said. "It's kind of surprising to me she's gone this many days."

DUMONT-- A woman who had last been seen when she left her home Monday night has been found safe in New York City, News 12 New Jersey reported Friday.

Family members told the station that Samantha McManus, 27, was being examined at a hospital.
