BREAKING: John Ozbilgen found deceased at his Freehold home this morning. We do not believe his death was suspicious at this time. Ozbilgen was recently released from jail after being charged with Possession of Child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Investigation remains active more to follow.

The ex-boyfriend of missing New Jersey nanny Stephanie Parze — who had been named a person of interest in the case — killed himself in his home, law enforcement sources confirmed in a report Friday.

I hope they find Stephanie..

Typically guys like this like themselves too much to off themselves.

I sincerely doubt he had a stoke of remorse. Most likely, because of his ego, he saw no way to face the music of all his current charges and potential charges. And so he took the cowardly way out. JMO

"The medical examiner is on scene to remove the body. Reports from NBC New York indicate Ozbilgen hung himself."

He should’ve never been released.

As long as they find Stephanie then I am good with this. Saves the State $. Then again I'm not sure her Family would feel the same even when Stephanie is found. Maybe he knew they were getting close to finding her.

How terrible for Stephanie’s family-If they weren’t sure before, I think they now know what has happened to her.

Me too. I didn't expect him to off himself. Hope he left a confession letter and the location of Stephanie. Doubt he has even an ounce of integrity needed to do that however.

Me three, my heart sank when I read that headline. It never crossed my mind that he would kill himself. I too hope there is a note, closure. So heartbreaking for the Parze family.

Agree. But not subjecting the family to a trial could be a huge blessing here in a tragic way as well.

I just pray that they achieve closure and find the body of SP.

Prayers to the family and friends of SP today.

He hanged himself? What! Don't get me wrong, he's no great loss to society, but it makes finding that poor girl much more difficult. I so hope they find her. Moo.

Jumping off your post

I don't get it. There was nothing more they could hold him on?

- Turbulent relationship
-Prior assault charges, one being Sept. 23rd
-Restraining order against him or was about to be filed?
-Marks seen on his neck
-His cell phone data indicating he was in a park, S.I. for 6 hours
-10 reported angry-nasty text messages sent the night before
(This probably really set him off that she did not acknowledge him)

Did I miss anything?

This was not enough to keep him in jail until the whereabouts of SP were known?

NO, you didn't miss anything.

I tried to find the video of the entire hearing and just found the clip which I posted. It looks like the Prosecutor tried hard to keep SO in custody but the Defense atty kept circling back to the then present charges which were for child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and the Judge bought it hook line and sinker IMO.

IDK why Prosecutor couldn't get a probable cause warrant to do DNA testing on the Suspect based on the neck marks and the cell phone data in the park was wonderful circumstantial evidence in this case too IMO and at least hold him in jail for a period of time.

IDK who the head of Monmouth County DA office might be but IMO they looked to be a day late and dollar short here as its unclear whether they even had warrants in place for SO residence and vehicle.

Not sure what is going on. Does anyone local have better info on the situation as its not making much sense on the surface given the evidence.

MOO

"A law enforcement source familiar with the investigation told NJ.com that John Ozbilgen, 29, hanged himself in the garage.

Ozbilgen’s attorney, Robert Honecker Jr., confirmed Ozbilgen committed suicide and said he would be meeting with the family on Friday, according to NJ.com."

Ex-boyfriend of missing N.J. woman Stephanie Parze found dead in suspected suicide

"I am sad to report to you that my client took his life early this morning," Robert Honecker said, Ozbilgen's attorney. "His family is emotionally distraught and heartbroken over the fact their son has taken his life. They found him in his house this morning and immediately notified authorities that he was dead."

If they had charged to hold him in her death the clock starts ticking. If they didn't have enough by the time Trial rolled around he could have walked and never charged again even if new evidence was discovered. I just hope they find her. I think they will given where he was all those hours. I'm sure it will take time but I do feel she will be found.

He wasn't charged with murder yet. I can't fault the justice system for having bail. He's clearly a coward as evidenced by the fact that he put his hands on a woman to begin with. Then he proved the ultimate coward by killing himself instead of facing the consequences of his actions. Hopefully he's already burning in hell.
